Default 110 MPH and BUSTED!!!!!!

Just got clocked doing 110MPH in a 55MPH on the freeway!!! No idea where the state patrol car came from since there was nowhere for them to be (Hmmmm... sneaky). I know I was going fast (95 -97.854mph) but, 110? Another odd thing was as I was sitting there I counted 5 state patrol cars pass us in about 3 minute increments of each other. Probably though I was going to try and run or something so called in back up (who knows). Anyway, the ticket also does not state what she hit me with (Laser/Radar). I wonder if this was because she was just estimating my speed. However, the ticket does state careless driving (But I got careless for doing 90mph before). After she gave me my ticket she said I can either pay the fine or go fight it in court, but all the ticket has is a court date. If anyone in MN has been pulled over in the tripe digits, please let me know the fine cost. I cannot currently find that out since all the court houses are closed.

This is what happens when you just bring the car out of storage and start to push it. Time for me to keep it on the tack...

TSK TSK!
I hope you learned your lesson, something bad could've happened, so it's good that you did get caught. May sound like an ******* but its better than you or someone else losing control of their car and having an unfortunate little messup.

In PA, you can fight a ticket like that if something isn't filled in right or incomplete. I've heard of people winning too. Good luck!

Dude...You've got to develop a much better sense of "Situational Awareness". Know where the bogies are at all times.

If you missed the bogie...you may have missed the minivan full of kids.

Probably time to go to bad boy school and try to get the points lowered.

This ones going to hurt your insurance for while.

Don't forget that you live in the state that busted a Honda RC51 for doing 205 MPH (just a slight mis-calculation).

That said.. 110 in a 55..in daylight?

You admitted that you were exceeding the speed limit....

I know I was going fast (95 -97.854mph)
So take your lumps and don't whine about it. If you're gonna play, you're gonna pay. Sorry I can't muster more sympathy than to say, sorry.....

I know around here 26 over and they can take your license. Sounds like you might need to talk to a lawyer.

You are lucky they did not take you in and impound your car! I know anything over 100 and that is a risk for reckless endangerment.

I will not say I have never been that fast on the street as just passing here on our back highways it is very easy to hit 90+ zipping around a trucker to pass. Speedlimet is 70 and most cruze around 80. You come up on a car going 65 and hit it and boom, 100 Mph and than back right down to 80. All it takes is a zap on the lazer and you are done. Just a good Idea to be carefull and safe. Sustained speeds that fast is for the track but that is another story.

Find a good Traffic Court Attorney. It will be worth the cost if he beats or gets the ticket reduced.

Good luck and dont worry about the flames. Anyone who states they dont speed in their Corvette is, well a Hypocrite.

Yes, it will suck if you hit someone , or hurt an innocent party. But we are all grown-ups and if I felt like being preached to , I would go to Church.

Again....Good Luck

The first thing Id like to agree with is... that you've got a great avatar! I'm dating a cute blond gal, but Id put a bench seat in my C5 for a pair of em... if they liked each other enough!

Secondly, as far as exceeding the local speed limit goes, let me just say that there is a time and a place for everything. Id sell my vette today if I didn't enjoy it every once in a while. Yes, there is a time and a place where cars often see sustained top speeds (varies with density altitude). And yes, that place is open road where no others are present, or places for cops to ambush motorists.

Good luck with your ticket and be more thoughtful next time... if you know what I mean.

Take my advice. Get a lawyer. I was in traffic court and a guy came in with a ticket well over the posted speed limit. He had a lawyer in toe and he shut his mouth and let the lawyer do ALL the talking. The judge commended him for recognizing the seriousness of the situation, gave him a reduced fine, traffic school, and hung a warning over his head. The judge asked him if he had anything to say after the penalty was issued. He said no and left with his license, car, and some dignity left. He was lighter in the pocket but he can still drive.
