Geez, everybody likes to pile on it seems!

If you were going in the 90's on a metro Detroit freeway, you'd just be average. That aforementioned minivan with the kids would be cursing you for going to slow and giving you the finger as they pass.

OK, so that may be slight hyperbole, but not much. It's nuts in that area.

Anyway, if it makes you feel better, I had my Z06 up to 148 on I-75 last summer and didn't get caught. How's that supposed to make you feel better? Well, now the CF police will start to flame me too and in my experience, misery loves company!

Anyone going double the speed limit in daytime traffic deserves no breaks nor sympathy. That's just moronic stupidity. Lawyer up, slick.

110?!?! I thought these cars did 175?

I'm sorry guys, but 110 on a public highway isn't all that much, nor is it unsafe in one of these cars. Try 175 in a car or 178 on a bike. 110, isn't all that much faster than the flow of traffic, if the car can safely handle it....why not cruise at that?

Steve,

Did you have a Radar/Laser detector operating and in your car at the time of the stop?

If you did and you don't know if they hit you with radar or laser, get a better unit.

If you didn't, I don't have polite words for that.

Get a Lawyer, and good luck.

Yep I had a Cobra Laser/Radar detector on at the time which did not go off at all. It must be a complete POS. Either way, its time to face the music and pay the price. I will call the courts tomorrow and find out what my options are.

Holy CRAP!! That's like getting a couple of DUIs!! Two careless driving incidents??!! Good luck with the insurance costs, sounds like maintaining the car now will be somewhere in the Ferrari owner's range. Good luck with it though, hope you get it taken care of!

They may have had a plane in the air clocking you. They do that here. Sunny day = watch the sky for big birds with stop watches. No Radar or Laser will save you from the plane.

Like a couple DUI's?? I am not sure about that.

When I got that careless in 2001 my insurance increased the same as a my other normal speed (I checked to make sure). Either way I am sure that has fallen of my record my now.

Probably time to go to bad boy school and try to get the points lowered.

This ones going to hurt your insurance for while.

Except here in Beautiful So. Calif you don't get no traffic school for 110 mph

I heard about that today from one of my buddies but he is also unsure. He knows two people that have been clocked faster than me (One at 120 was an Eclipse GTS and another at 115 a Honda civic) and they got off some how. I am wondering why the cop never mentioned this to me. All she said was court or pay the fine. Lawyer time...

Steve.......
It's nice that all the Corvette Saints have shown up to bash you

Just like Stangkiller said......I'm guessing we've all (or most of us) have done it....you were just unlucky

Good luck with getting it resolved....i'm sure it's going to hurt some

I got a ticket for 115 in a 70 in Florida. The cop was kind enough to just give me a speeding ticket for $310.50. I paid it and counted my blessings that he didn't haul me to jail for reckless driveing or make me go to court.

I just got on the blower for about 3 seconds when I saw him....Timing is everything.

Good Luck!
