Default Is this acceptable?

These are polished stainless steel & then clear coated lips on rims I just received. The clear is smooth, but the lips have an incredible amount of fine scratches throughout, giving them a cloudy & a herringbone appearance. To me, these were not properly polished before the clear was put on. I expected a clean, & swirl & scratch free flawless polish job before the clear.

To me, this is not acceptable.
I'd like your thoughts on these pics.
Thanks..

Depending on how much you paid for the wheels I would say unacceptable and send them back. That stinks, dude

Are these brand new or refinished in some way? In any case, I suppose, if they're not what you were expecting and you're not happy with them, send them back.

If you paid actual money for them...send them back in my opinion.

Not very good quality-control. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

These are 100% brand new rims, costing over $4300.00 with tires & sensors. Fresh out of their protective covering & packaging.

I am hoping the mfgr/distributor will send me another set, with a visual inspection prior to shipping, but I am extremely disappointed with this set.

I expect a flawless polish job to look like this:

Ellis - personally I think they are unacceptable having a finish like that. I too would expect a high polished finish that looks like a mirror. I'd say see if the vendor will make it right. Good luck.

No way. Is the scuffing in the clear or did they clear over existing scuffs? Either way, I would send them back. If you notice it now, it will bug your forever if you keep them.

What you have there sir, is hay, once through a horse. If it were me the seller would have them in his front window in the AM.

I have to agree with you El. These are not final polished in my opinion. Somebody missed a step. I hope you get it resolved.

But seriously, SEND THEM BACK. When you pay that kind of money you deserve to have them done right

Wouldn't be acceptable to me.

I have ever seen ANY polished stainless steel wheels before come to think of it.
