If they dont decide to total it, do you all think it will ever be the same? And at this point I am not really concerned with the money or making them pay, I mean if I was in your shoes I would probably say the same thing. But at this point I just want to get better.

It may not ever be the same again, if they decide not to total it. That is a pretty serious hit. I'm sure the damage to the drivetrain and frame would take alot to fix correctly. I'm glad you made it through, hopefully you'll be feeling better soon
I find it hard to believe all these cases you speak of all come from driver's who stopped with their second drink.
You are so correct, they did not. But you missed the real point, DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE. I have had the police come and do a presentation on what a small amount of alcohol can and does do to your reaction time, visual, thought processes, etc. The problem is people think they can handle 1 or 2 drinks, and maybe they can and maybe they can't, but ALL are effected in some way and are not thier normal self (no alcohol in system).
Therefore the only safe way is DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE!!

Mine had a bent frame in front from a 30mph hit. Frame was replaced and it drives as good as it ever did.
I'd sure have them check your entire drivetrain real close though. Don't forget the torque tube and driveshaft, also all the suspension pieces close for cracks.
Wow Glad to hear that you are ok man hope you get back to 100% soon.
I don't want to get into a whole sermon on drinking and driving and laws and all of those things, but the law for "DUI" was changed back in the 70's from .10 to .08 after 2 successive years of declining arrests and a decreased amount of "fines" payed to the state. (specifically in CA). The move from .10 to .08 raised the numbers back to an acceptable level of income for the state and have remained steady (more like steadily increasing)
By no means do I condone ANY driving while drinking, just wanted to toss some fact into the reasoning. It actually had very little, if any, to do with the difference in driving ability between .10 and .08 across most test groups and age ranges, (some of the older people actually drove BETTER at .10 than .08) it mainly had to do with $$$$.
You see, my in-laws were slammed head on back in November by a 25 year old drunk woman , BAC of .28 and on top of all that some sleeping pills and anti depressants . She killed my father in law , and my mother in law is still receiving treatments and can only walk using a walker or a wheel chair .and the girl walks away from the whole accident without a scratch ( driving an SUV) and is out on BOND to his day , court hearings keep getting postponed , our lovely government at work, go figure
Sometimes I think I'd hunt the biatch down and put a couple of bullets in her legs so she'd have something to remember the rest of her life. I'm not really the violent type at all but I get so pissed when people hurt othes and walk away as if nothing ever happened.
