I can't figure out why cars need cup holders. My car is not a mobile bar. The most annoying features of the C5, are the things GM didn't bother fixing right. The leaking axle seals, the power window motors that don't last, the rocking seats, and the steering column lock. All the problems that were with the 1997's, lasted thru the last of the C5's. All GM did was put a band aid on the problems.
I agree about the windshield wiper stalk. It is too close to the steering wheel. Next on my list is the position of the gas filler release. Why oh why did they put it inside the console?
Trust me, it's substantially better than the method that DCX implemented in the new Chryslers...the driver can't even access the center console unless one is completely stopped and/or a contortionist.
My vote still goes to the C5's 'rocking' seats which move slightly forward when slowing down and/or coming to a stop...GM should've had a permanent 'fix' to this annoying problem.

GM does have a permanent fix. They changed the seat track assembly in late 2001 for some of the 2002 model year cars. Mine was manufactured September 9th 2001, and did not have the improved version. 25 cars after mine, they started fitting them as standard equipment. I had the dealer replace mine under GMPP.

These are the real problems. I also hit the WW stalk occassionally but that is minor compared to getting stuck with the column lock, and the myraid of electroical problems that, in my mind, are all 100% PREVENTABLE.
Sure, but it looks like a PIA to install. Did you look at the instructions? For as often as I refuel (once every week or 10 days), I'd rather just flip open the console and push the button!
Much better idea than paying $129 to avoid pushing a button!!!!!
