I updated my signature and noticed there was a trend. With very minor exceptions (lowering, for example), all of my mods were performance based or at the very least, meant to improve functionality and not bling. How many of you have noticed this trend on your own cars?
I did tint to reduce the heat in the car; looks were only about half the factor.
I did flush tailights to reduce the dreaded drip; again looks were only part of the factor.
I put in a blackwing mostly because the stock box just looked painfully restrictive.
I upgraded the stereo mostly because i had an outdated cassette deck.
So hmm... I guess my mods ARE mostly cosmetic but they do have some minor performance benefits.
Oh, one exception... I added the hood seal for the 15 rwhp.

Mostly performance too... I am just starting the "bling" phase...

That picture makes me nervous to enter parking garages... I always fear that Stuzvette is going to come out from around a pillar and just bit@h-slap my mostly-stock coupe.

All my mods have been for looks or functionality. No preformance mods at all.
I'm the same. Blackwing and planned exhaust are really the only "performance" mods I've done or planning. Well.......wait, I forgot the infamous Performance Hood Seal.

Well, I don't know if this was for bling or performance, but I removed the AIR BAG WARNING decals from the sunvisors. Oh, and I turned my floor mats over so the rubber side is up. I'll post a DIY on that project later.
If interested, check out my profile to find out the mods that I have done to my car. Not listed, complete retrofit of the stock stereo to custon Alpine & JL Audio with subwoofer and Nokia hands free phone
Performance mods can only be enjoyed by you. Other mods can be enjoyed by all and can be easily changed or removed if you plan to sale. Performance mods, in most cases, decrease the value and dependability of the car......Just a thought!

I don't care to mod my car for others, really, although it's nice to get compliments. I agree some performance mods will decrease the value, but some of my performance mods, i.e. RPM transmission, new gears, transmission cooler, etc. definitely will increase dependability. But, I'm surely not in this for the money... just for the fun of it.
