Question comes down to - do you drive with the top down more than up? Get a vert as it is easier, quicker and more open than the coupe with the top down.
I live in Florida and drive my vert 75 miles per day round trip to work. Top is down 75 percent of the time so vert was the correct answer for me.
I debated and test drive both types. I found a dislike having to yell to the passenger when driving a vert at 70-75 MPH. Driving the coupe at these speeds you still can talk normal to the passenger. Plus the coupe top open still gives you a feel to the vert. So I chose coupe.
It is personal preference...
The openess of a Vert cannot be matched in a coupe with the panel out. I also believe the wind buffeting is worse in the coupe with the panel out than in a Vert.
Vert all the way here I like the open air feeling and my top is never up unless the temps are below 50 degrees.
You also need to think about what you are going to do with the car if you are going to track it buy a frc are a coupe if not get the Vert you wont regreat it (I DONT.)

I knew it was gonna be a vert before I knew it was gonna be a 'Vette!!!

I thought I wanted a coupe when I bought my car. After looking at the ad three times and saying "Nah - I don't want a convertible" thinking that I would never drop the top. The reality is that my top is down about 90% of the time. I love having a convertible and wouldn't have it any other way. I'm glad I didn't get a coupe.
The discussions about the backing up with the top up are valid - but frankly that only happens about 5 times a year to me. The discussions about the coupe being the best of both worlds......I have to disagree. How is a targa top the same as a convertible. It's not! There is actually more turbulence in a coupe with the top off than there is in a convertible with the top down. Something about the air getting trapped back there. Some will say that the coupe is more practical. Sorry - but we're talking about a sportscar here , not an SUV. There is nothing practical about a sportscar. You don't need a sportscar - you NEED a sportscar!
There is no wrong answer coupe vs. convertible. Get the car that makes your heart race and the one that makes you feel that you can't live without it.
Good luck with your decision.

I went with the couple for many reasons - looks, aerodynamics, storage capacity etc... I love the verts with the top down. I hate them with the top up. Same for the FRC/Z06 - just don't like the body style. I hate the cramped feeling and the visibility out the back of the verts, but I'll be damned if I can figure out why I keep going for test drives with them. Everytime I see a vert for sale in my area with the options I'm looking for I always check it out and take it for a test drive - and I don't know why. Something keeps drawing me in. I haven't taken the plung yet but...
