Tire?

They're black rubber things that are mostly round except a little flattened out on the bottom - what are you using?

Definitely not the rough riding & noisy runflats. I got rid of those after 5k miles. I then put BFG gForce KDWs (stock sizes) on the stock wheels. They were great all-around tires. After 437 rwhp and 3.90 gears, I upgraded wheels and am running Michelin PS2 265/35/18 in front and Nitto Drag Radial 305/35/18 in back. I also have a set of oem C5 Z06 wheels that I bought for open road racing (Big Bend Open Road Race). I have BFG gForce KDs (255/40/17 and 295/35/18) on those wheels.
I just bought a C4 convertible a couple of weeks ago. It has the original GSC runflats on it, so I'll be replacing those with BFG gForce KDWS tires because this car will be my daily driver. Right now the Z06 wheels and KDs are on the C4.
That is probably more information than you wanted. Check out "My Corvette Photos" to see some of the different wheels and tires I have had.

The best all-around tire in the world - the Goodyear GSD3s.
Specs:
Dry: .94gs (just a hair below the best dry surface-only tire)
Wet: .82gs (far superior to any other tire in this class)
Excellent wear characteristics, smooth ride, and whisper quiet make this a joy to use. Using is believing!

For summer driving, Michelin Pilot Sport IIs. For winter, I change to Firestone Firehawk runflats.

I stayed with the OEM Goodyear Runflats (3rd set at 98,000 miles), compared to my 1964 VERT, my C5 rides GREAT ! If I was going to non-runflats, I would use Goodyear GSD3s.

Firestone Wide Oval 265/40WR-17 & 295/35WR-18 on OEM '03 z06Speedlines. Try them, you will love them. The $500 plus that you save over GY & Michelins can go into other mods.

Can't go wrong with either one.

Everyone seems to love whatever they bought to replace runflats.
We all have a tendency to love our own **** the most, whether justified or not. I'm running Nitto 555's and of course I think they're the greatest. Ask me when I see 30,000 miles.

Welp, let's review a moment. I've used:
Goodyear EMTs (Stock)
Firestone Firehawk RFTs
Goodyear GS-D3s
BFG KDW2s
I don't exactly see two of those listed above on my "love our own ****" list recommendations to smoothblue and/or Dave68. Maybe I missed something.

As for me, I currently have PS2's and I would say I like them. Of course, compared to the run-flats I took off most all will be better, unless you get a flat. anyway, much better traction and they handle good too.
