Not mine - I know my vette went straight from the assembly plant into a covered carrier and then rolled off the carrier on a Sunny day. From there it went right into the garage to sit there and look pretty for the cat that passes by it here and there
Guess what they were made to go in and not rust in water. They went through a water test at the plant, sat on the lot in weather, rode on a truck in weather, and they all survive.
We take our 03 on vacations and trips it gets dirty, wet, and bugs on it. I come home and clean it and it still runs great. It is just amazing that it still works after getting wet and dirty.
Come on it is a car, not a person. Just my .02 worth.
Mine's never been driven in the rain either. I removed my windshield wipers a couple of years ago, so I can't get caught in the rain. I will say that I've become quite good at predicting the weather. If it's too cloudy or looks like it could rain, it stays in the garage.
here's the opposing viewpoint (which works for us but may not work for any other corvette owner): we bought our c5 to enjoy. here in the northeast, we drive it year round. it's not our dd but we take it out in rain, light snow, slush, et cetera. as long as one takes it easy, it's a good ride. when we don't own this c5 any more (because we'll be driving a c6 someday? ) the last thought i want to have is "wow, i wish i had driven that vette more". ours is a driver. i respect those who own c5s & prefer to drive in clear/dry weather. i suspect we drive ours more simply because we can. enjoy the ride. bub

98 with 20,000 miles....never been in the rain...and when you look under her,...she looks just like she did when she left the factory.....
Well, it has been a long time coming. Don't feel bad my hubby is the same way. BUT GM did put wipers on the cars so apparently they thought the car could handle it. But they are a total B to clean afterward. Don't worry this first time is the hardest, it will be easier next time :-)
I prefer to be viewed as ****. By the way, mine has never been washed either. I also just turned 20,000 miles on it last week. Some people like driving their Vette in any kind of weather. I know it's hard for people to understand, but I enjoy just knowing that mine's in the garage and I can take it for spin on a nice, sunny day. Different strokes for different folks.
