On land ****, on land. I thought about doing that on my last trip to Vegas.
Alright, you do have me beat there
It's pretty cool on the plane - you can see what cities you're over, your speed and altitude, how far you've gone & how far to go (as long as you have POI's entered previously) and other assorted neat data . The only disappointment is they don't let you turn it on below 10,000 feet so you don't get to see the speed increase on takeoff or decrease on landing. THAT would be darn cool (IMO).

I've had this unit for 3 months now and like it just fine. Final cost $400. Touch screen operated, self contained (no CD ROM needed) Great voice comands, updatable in the future through the internet. And it's Sony. I trust Sony's products.
Has anyone else who uses teleatlas maps heard that their map insight is out of the beta phase? I got an email from them saying that the user feedback is getting implemented, sounds like its getting up to speed - i don't think there's a way to get map improvements any better than that.
