As said above, call Gene Culley at Beans (610-495-1700). He can tell you if you have the wrong foam and i'm sure get the right ones to you if you don't.

I recently ordered repalcement foam for the std seats. The bottom seat foam pieces are off-white in color and I don't recall any square holes in the back area. Could be for the lumbar support that was not available on the standard seats.

I Know Online The Cost For Sport Seat Bottoms Is Higher , Im Thinking I Recieved One Standard Seat Bottom And One Sport Seat Bottom.
Any Ideas. Whats The Holes For? The Frame?
Thanks, Sherry

If you are talking about the bottom picture, it is correct. Thats how they are supposed to be! The one with the square holes goes onto the passenger bottom. Been there. When you take the skin off of the passenger bottom it will be evident.

In light of Sherry's experience with Gene...
It would be nice if Gene offers an apology online or at least give his side of the story.

and on the other hand I called the guys at Fitchner's Chevrolet for my C6 shifter kit and they were great. There was a problem with my credit card and they called back and were just as courteous. Seems they had the wrong expiration date.

Sherry, I'm sorry you had a bad experience with Bean's but many of us have been treated very well by Gene. He has helped with part numbers and parts for club members and myself, always being patient and polite. I find it very hard to believe that Gene would have been "out of line" in any manner. Fred Beans' has been a supporting member of the Forum for several years and has gained a great reputation. I find it disturbing to see a vendor bashed before trying to correct the problem in private.

Gene has a great and well deserved reputation here on the CF. I wonder if he isn't just having a bad day - we all have 'em. I agree that being treated poorly is inexcusable, but I would like to hear both sides before I pass judgement.

I'm sorry that the originator was treated poorly but let's all try to not bash a well known and respected vendor until Gene has his opportunity to respond.

Well given that it could've been just a bad day, I don't look at it as bashing a vendor... If that's what transpired, then it is what it is... Are you saying we should "overlook" this becuase they're a supporting vendor?? Remember she did call back, and let Gene know that she was referred by the Forum...

In all fairness, a GM parts dealer cannot know everything about all of his products. If you post a photo here of the foam, I'd be happy to tell you if it's correct.

Gene has always treated me well, and will continue to recieve my business. I think you'll find that as well if you give him a chance. Imagine the scenario that your parts are correct. If that's the case, there was no need to call him to ask if they are correct. If you're looking for hand holding, or need additional assistance, full price dealers will be more than happy to take your money...

I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I have had nothing but great service from Gene at Fred Beans ( I have also had the same experiences with Fitchners).
The lastest was over a set of new Brake Rotors. I purchased them during one of the recent special sale at Fred Beans. One rear rotor was defective. I asked for both rears to be replaced to be sure they matched. One email and a new pair was sent and a pick-up order for the defective ones at the same time. Took about 2 days total. No problem at all. I have had more problems with returns at local parts stores on a face to face basis.
I am aware that you did not remove the old foam first, therefore would not have seen the comparison between both seats. Most parts departments deal with the mechanics who usually have the old or broken part in hand when they request a replacement. That is when they can be compared with one another. I don't think that the percentage of sales is very high for Corvette People with the kind of requests and needs we have. Not many repair shops( the largest customers for a Fred Beans) buy parts based on "maybe I'll need it because a some guys on my Forum said I will".
I would like to hear the other side since this seems to be out of character for Gene Culley and Fred Beans.

No I'm not saying to "overlook" the situation, but it is a clear violation of Forum rules to "name call" or a personal attacks. If she was treated as mentioned complaining here is not the place to do it. Complain to the vendor and if you don't get satisfaction then tell you story here without the personal attack.
Look I was in retail for over 30 years and I know that every customer was not always treated fair, sometimes the tone from the customer would make dealing with them hard at best and no matter how you would try to help once angered, the customer would become even more difficult. I'm not saying the this is what happened , and I do know that the customer is "always right" or not an interruption to your work , they are your work. Gene or anyone else has no right to be rude. but I feel it should have been handled in a different manner.

Default Something smells fishy to me

You have been on this forum for a month, Gene has been here for years
Gene has always bent over back wards to help. Ive never heard a rude word out of his mouth... Everytime anyone orders a part, Gene always, I mean always asks for a Vin #, this Vin number pumps out a Part # specifically for your car.... the part number is easily checked... The boxes have a GM Part number on them which correlates to the part needed for your car.

Your rendition of how Gene Culley handled you sounds like someone trying to ruin a well established and very credible supporting vendor..

I know Gene Very well... I never met him... but I dont know you... and I question your rant. Because it is the first one of its kind... If you do a search you will see hundreds of positive post on how great Gene is.

Good point Bill (ET)! It's too bad that one post can tend to destroy a good reputation built up over several months. Thanks for pointing this out.

Is the foam with 2 holes for standard seats? My sport seat foams don't have any hole.

I had a similar experience with Bob at Fichtner Chevrolet 4 days ago. He talked with me for 20 minutes about one of the dumbest questions I could have posed upon anyone. Looking back on it ...I would say he is a "nut" for not referring me to a mental institution Love that Bob

P.S. On the other side of the coin...I also haven't ever heard much bad stuff about Gene. I mostly hear is that he is a "good guy" and has helped many members here on the forum.....go figure
