Default Is the C5 "dated"

Now that the C6 has been out for a bit, do you think the C5 looks "dated" in comparison?

LOOKS dated? Compared to the C6, maybe. But The C5 chassis and performance is not dated compared to the C6. They are very similar. However, the C5 is light years ahead of the C4.

I still get people asking me if that's a new vette. They are shocked when I tell them its a 2002. Honestly, the vette is so sleek and aerodynamic, I don't think it will ever go out of style.

Look at some of the car magazine advertising, waxes etc. You will find a C5 rather than a C6

C5 is dated (because of the C6) but Corvette styling is timeless... the C5 will be no exception.

Personally, I don't think the C5 will ever look dated compared to a C6. They better do something a lot different to the C7 to make me want to buy a replacement for my C5 cause it sure isn't a C6!!!

It took me exactly 5 seconds to fall in love with the C5.

I have had a chance to look at the C6 for a couple of years now and I still don't like the lines. But I don't like the C3's much either, so I guess to each his own.

When I told people mine is a 98, they give me this ....
They thought it a brand new 06 car since it looks better than brand new C6

Me too. Most cannot believe it is a 98. I don't even take care of mine like many on this board, it is daily driven, hardly washed

I think the C5 body style will prove much more timeless than the C6. IMO, it's a much cleaner and sleeker design. I prefer its curves to the C6's creases. The C6 is continuing to grow on me, though, particularly in the flared-out C6Z form. The only two styling elements of the C5 that are beginning to look dated to me are the pop-up headlights (which I like, but fell out of favor with designers by the mid-'90s) and the rear overhang, which looks a foot too long next to a C6.
