I have on 04 z been in caught in several rain storms, and washed many times, no leaks as of yet. I have read that readjusting the window glass or doors make for a better seal cant remember which one exactly. Good Luck.....
I have a 2003 Z06.
Car does not leak when it rains.
But... I have the same leak after I wash the car when I go to move it. And it doesn't always happen.
The leak is small and drips right on the legs under the dash.

My '01 leaks like a sieve! Headliner gets soaked from front to back next to the top of the windows. Water runs down the A-pillar and onto the carpet. This is the most disappointing problem the car has.
Well, underneath the wiper trans. is not where it is leaking. So I got inside the car and pulled off the a-pillar plastic cover, and got a glass of water and slowly poured it on the roof, so it would run into the channel over the window, and it imediately started to run down the a pillar and into the car. I was hoping that the fix would have been under the wipers, but this is the same leak my 04 had and numerous gm techs couldnt figure it out, so I doubt that I am going to be able to do it. Oh well the car goes back to the dealer tomorrow.
Mine leaked through the weatherstrip rail onto the headliner, and also down the A-Pillar, and into the kick panel area on both sides. I ended up stripping the whole damn interior, using a hose to find all my leaks, and plugged them up with an auto body sealer.
Passenger is leak free now, driver side still leaks a little bit down the A-Pillar, and on the headliner. It will soak badly if it is in the rain for extended periods, I just don't drive it around on rainy days.
For the FRC/Z06, leaking is not entirely common, but it is also not an isolated issue either. I figure most people don't daily drive their corvette, and leave them under cover during bad weather, so the actual occurrence of these leaks could be much higher given that demographic.
ANd if it rains for a long period of time, the carpet wil get soaked, and there might be some water in the kickplate above the pedals. You can put your hand up under it and feel for water.
Mine leaked at this same place, and would run down to the carpet on the left side. I pulled the trim piece off the A pillar of the windshield and found that it is held in place by clips that push into the pillar.
I put some putty type body sealer around all the clips that pushed into the channel and it has not leaked since. It has been awhile, but it seems like there was one or two plastic head pins that were also under the trim that I removed and resealed.
I think that if every place there is an opening in the channel is not sealed, water runs down the channel next to the windshield and some ends up finding its way under the trim. Mine would drip under the windshield trim, and run behind the door opening trim until it got to the carpet.
So I got inside the car and pulled off the a-pillar plastic cover, and got a glass of water and slowly poured it on the roof, so it would run into the channel over the window, and it imediately started to run down the a pillar and into the car.
Leave the trim off and use body sealer to temporarily seal all the slots in the windshield frame where the trim clips press into. Then run the same water test and see if water is getting in anywhere other than the holes for the clips. If not, then just use body sealer putty to seal around the clips when the trim is pushed back into place.
mine leaks like crazy when I park it with the nose uphill. downhill, no worries. I leave a big one pound dry silica pack in it to mitigate the side effects (scraping the inside of the windows for instance).
as an aside, when I took the bowling green assembly tour got a close look at the leak booths...they dang near dunk these things before they leave to line. My C4 leaked too, so I wonder what goes wrong between BGKY and my driveway
Well, he is actually being cool about it. I took the headliner out today and brought the car over to him and we ran a hose over it. It leaks towards the rear of the window, very badly. Passenger side too.The water was soaking the headliner and eventually made it to the front of the car and ran down tha apiller and down onto the carpet. I am going to have the drip channels around the windows taken off and then seal around them, that should do it. And I am getting a new headliner since the old one is dry rotted from all the water. I might be geting new carpet also, because the carpet gets soaked. I cant believe two different chevy dealers and five different repair attempts couldnt figure out what was wrong with my last car. All it tok was a little time and effort to find the leak, and it will soon be fixed. Oh well, because of the dealerships lazyness/lack of knowledge, GM bought back my 04 Z.
I had a problem once when my car got caught in the rain. Just as you describe the water ran down the A pillar then dripped on my leg. As I very rarely drove my car in the rain I didn't worry about it. The first time that I took the car to the track I was realy moving down a straight about 130-140 mph and suddenly I hear a loud knocking sound. My first reaction was OMG I blew my engine. Then I realized that the knocking was comming from the roof. The rubber trim around the windshield had come loose and was flapping in the wind, and banging on the roof. After I had that fixed, I was caught in a couple more rain storms and didn't leak at all.
Another thing I have read about is that many people close the doors on these cars and others that have no frame around the glass, by pushing on the glass. This is a huge NO NO. Closing the door by pushing on the window loosens the galss and ruins the ability of the glass to seal against the rubber weather strip. I realy started noticing when I pushed against the galss to close the door and noticed that I did it all the time. Now I am very carefull to not push on the glass to close the door but push on the door or the handle only. This can be fixed by adjusting the window but until you stop pushing on the glass, it will get loose again. There is a thread on adjusting the glass. This will also help if you get wind noise at high speed (another sign that the glass is loose if you have that too).

Hey your having the exact same leak I'm having- just most of mine runs down the back of the headliner onto the floor rather than forward down the A pillar. Below is a pic of were the water is entering (almost same place on both sides).
Any idea what exactly needs to be used to seal this area and where they are putting on the black frame piece? Good luck
Thats exactly where mine is leaking from. I can't believe there are this many Z06's that leak like this. How do they pas QC leaking like that? If you remove the weather stripping from around the door opening, you will see some screws, that can be removed so you can take off the metal channel that runs above the window. Once that is removed you need to runa bead of sealant around the opening and then reinstall, the metal channel. I would let it set up for a while and then spray it with a hose and see if it still leaks.

I just had a leak fixed. Mine had a body panel seal open up and was letting water in on the drivers side...it would drip down onto the carpet from under the dash. I have CMPP, but there was no way, no how, they were going to cover it. It was about $150 to get it fixed.
I don't know if this is of much help or not, but I know a couple of people check their motorhomes by overpresserizing the inside a bit and then spraying a soap and water mixture on the outside, if it bubbles, it leaks. I'll leave it up to someone else to figure out how to build up the pressure inside the car by a couple of pounds or so.

Wow even the old chevelles and camaros I have restored have a seal between the weatherstrip moulding and the body. It's crazy these cars dont. WTH!!!!

Close all the windows, tape up the pressure relief valve located in the left rear of the trunk, turn on the heater fan to max speed and turn the hvac to outside air, it will pressurize the cabin.
