I think the look is very nice, and for $299 and up a great starting point. But if I were to add hoops for anything other than show I would love them to have some safety value. I have done the upside-down trick once, fortunately not in a vert. Great idea Chip

After thinking for a minute, that would be a nice touch for the $$ regardless if safety is not enhanced. I will go w/ chrome. or powdercoated to match exterior or interior.

Reason: more thought
Iceburg....I love those hoops. Willfulone...Iceburg's thicker style hoops are what I like...think these are 2 1/2" or more? What about doing this style of a triangular bend? Leather wrapped an option?
FYI, these hoops have been available for quite some time from Design Specialties, and now Matukas Motorsports. They are high quality pieces, bent from a jig to follow the seat back perfectly, and are triple plated chrome. Many on this forum have them and they are, by far, the best fitting, looking out there.
And yes, they are bolted in and no need to remove the tanks, BECAUSE they have been engineered for the C-5.
No need to reinvent the wheel since the product already exists.
You can find more info on them @ matukasmotorsports.com

Thats really nice..but there is no price given..this is the internet...if we wanted to call we would!
I hate sites that dont quote prices..have popups or no images to preview...
While you are working on the design of the hoops, how about thinking of a way to integrate the hoops with a "Vette Net" type piece of clear plexi that would attach to the hoops and can remain in place when the vert top is up.
A lady on the forum said she made her own "Vette net" out of plexiglass and attaches it to the hoops in her car with velcro.
I had never considered hoops before but my wife almost refuses to ride in the vert with the top down and I hate the looks of the real "Vette nets" with that gaudy frame around them. I am now thinking of installing some hoops so I can make a clear plexiglass panel to attach to the hoops. The lady I talked to recently on the forum has very long hair and said her little project keeps her hair from blowing.
This idea may be something you could do, as it would make your product different from the others and change the hoops from all bling into something very useful. Think about how many of us cruising around in our roadsters would enjoy less buffeting from the wind as we cruise around. Another major drawback to the real "Vette net" is the fact that they must be removed in order to put the top up. Not a nice thing if you drive into a rain shower and need to get the top up in a hurry.
