Hoops Anyone?
Just got back from a meeting with the fab guys...
One of the topics that got a lot of talk was seat back hoops.
Looks like they go from $399 to $599. and range from stick on's to having to remove the gas tank to install. Most are 2", 180 bend
We may have a way to produce these for Verts and Coupes, which would be a semi-permanent mount, no need to remove the gas tank to install, do them in High Polish Stainless Steel or Chrome, and a 2 1/2" bend.
all for around $299 to $350
The catch is that the tooling is $$$ to do a 2 1/2 180 bend.
Design to release would be about 6 to 10 weeks and most likely we would need a group purchase of 20 to begin acquiring all the tools needed to to it.
Just curious if there is any interest out there for this project...

Otherwise they are just glued in place.
Unless I'm looking in the wrong place?
We are looking at doing 2 1/2" as well

It's going to be a major project, that's why I was just gaging interest before I give the go ahead.
It is kind of one of those deals that once you start it, you are obligated to finish it because of the overall expense associated with the project...

It depends on the tooling. 180 at 2 1/2 is tough at that radius...
Several options were discussed, as we have not decided if we were going to Chrome them or do a High Polish SS...
I'm going back down mid week next week to drop off some other final mock up prototypes for other projects, so I'll see what they have come up with.

I'd be interested in them. Been looking for some appearance mods for my vert and these would be great.
BTW Chip...I got my order last week and everything looks great. Just waiting for a break in the frigid temps to get out and put it all on!

I think they're dopey. If they had any functional value, then sure, but as it is, they just take up space behind the seat and are worthless bling.
Sorry, I just have a great respect for roll bars that can save lives but a strong personal disdain for "fake" roll bars.
