I like the idea of incorprating the plexa glass (like the vettnet) into the the hoops and i also like the idea of bolting them down without removing the gas tank.
the price is great also.
While you are working on the design of the hoops, how about thinking of a way to integrate the hoops with a "Vette Net" type piece of clear plexi that would attach to the hoops and can remain in place when the vert top is up.
A lady on the forum said she made her own "Vette net" out of plexiglass and attaches it to the hoops in her car with velcro.
I had never considered hoops before but my wife almost refuses to ride in the vert with the top down and I hate the looks of the real "Vette nets" with that gaudy frame around them. I am now thinking of installing some hoops so I can make a clear plexiglass panel to attach to the hoops. The lady I talked to recently on the forum has very long hair and said her little project keeps her hair from blowing.
This idea may be something you could do, as it would make your product different from the others and change the hoops from all bling into something very useful. Think about how many of us cruising around in our roadsters would enjoy less buffeting from the wind as we cruise around. Another major drawback to the real "Vette net" is the fact that they must be removed in order to put the top up. Not a nice thing if you drive into a rain shower and need to get the top up in a hurry.

Now we are thinking great lines.
I too have the wife prob. with the top down.
If there can be an intergration between the two, all the better.

I'm no lawyer but there is several different manufacturers of these hoops so the only liability I can see is if someone thinks they are roll bars for safety. Then you just need to have a explicit statement that these are not functional roll bars but for cosmetic use only and will in no way protect you in the event of a rollover. What more could there be? Get er done!

There seems to be further work that needs to be done on the liability side of this project...
