One of the easily corrected problems with the C-5 is that you can easily overdrive the low beam headlights at night using the USA version of the pop-up headlights. Well the correction is easy, use the european GM version of the headlights, requires a relay for each side, left and right, and uses a 90 bulb for low beam and 120 for high beam, change is like daylight or hids without the cost. Coversion was about $300.00 and took an hour, stock configuration appears to be the same, light intensity passes cops approvals and adds greatly to the see at night at 75 scenereo. USES 2 PIAA bulbs not 4 using the current GM USA configuration, makes a C-5 brighter than a C-6 at night without the replacement bulb costs!
Just thought I'd pass it on, saved my bacon more than once when the old lady pulled out on the street without looking, gave ample time to stop.

Any chance of doing a detailed post on what is involved, where you got the parts and what parts are needed??
The headlight kit was purchased from Ecklers for about $350.
The kit includes two new glass headlight assemblies to use the PAAS hi-lo single bulb headlamp, necessary wiring and two relays. The installation was a simple remove and replace. Wiring into the headlamp electrical circuit was exactly explained in the information kit provided. The relays gound to the battery negative terminal. The relays were mounted next to the battery.
The task in actual installation took two of us less than an hour, which included re-alignment of the headlamps.
Vast improvement in headlight power, equivalent to the HIDS without the costs involved. On low beam, the output appears (objectively speaking) twice that of the current USA version. On high beam the projection makes the roadway appear as daylight as no beam center is observed.
The bulb output reads 90/135 vs the US two bulb version at 60/80.
The left and right headlight housings are correct, you will need the harness and the bulbs being used are PAAS 90/135 watts. They do not reference the entire kit which includes the necessary voltage relays to drive the new european headlight bulbs. Querry them for the complete kit.
You will need the Harness, PAAS bulbs 90/135, relays, left and right side headlamp assemblies. The work starts by removing the headlight covers and then simply removing the existing headlamp assembly (save all screws) as the new assembly is a direct bolt in place. The harness taps into the existing wiring on the passenger side of the vehicle and requires the relays which ground to the negative on the battery, will give numbers on the relays if un-attainable from Ecklers.
Will provide digital pictures when my oldest son brings his digital camera and we up load to this computer. It is an easy job and well worth the effort as I feel safe driving 70+ at night on low beams as the projection is about twice as far as the traditional lighting system supplied with the Corvette.

Reason: Incomplete
Guys - I took GP's advice & sent Eckler's an email to try & get a part number & price for a COMPLETE kit. I also asked if they'd be willing to do a Group Buy so I'll keep everyone informed as soon as I get the info. I reasoned that one of us might get a better response than if we bombarded them with emails so I'll run point on this one.

I will be interested in GP if the price is right. Keep us up-dated.
Guys - The Eckler's reply came this morning & they "don't do group buys". Here's the part numbers w/prices. Sorry but that's the best I could come up with.

We offer the European headlamps as part number 41313 @ $189.99 and 41314 @ $189.99 and the wiring harness part number 41776 @ $17.99 each with two required.

I saw those on the Eckler's website, but there was no mention of the relays or the higher wattage bulbs (probably why You need the relays).
Screw em,,, "We dont do group purchases." What kind of crap is that. Hell,,,if they would even do free shipping that would make a difference.
Ill check with Gene Culley and see if he can come up with the parts as a kit. if there all GM euro stuff,,,he will be able to get it. We will see. if it can be done, he can do it!
As soon as I find out the answer,,,you guys will know it.

Can you put together a list of the GM parts and part# if you have them that we can provide Gene Culley. He says that he may be able to put together a GP with good prices!
What parts in the kit are GM EURO specific??
Any info that you can provide will be much apperciated.
