Sleepers Are The Best. And Yes You Can Have A Corvette Sleeper. Mine Is One.

Mine's more like a Corvette "slapper" :D
It's quick, (13.20s), but good grief, the piston slap really bugs me! It knocks loud enough when cold to get my coworker's attention. It quietens down when warm, but is still slightly audible. Oh well.

I really don't think you can qualify an iconic sports car as a sleeper. Even in stock form w/ wagon wheels and the old factory black catback the car is still known/assumed to be fast.
If you want sleeper take a civic, or something that isn't assumed to be fast... i.e. my buddy's volvo wagon w/ a LT-4 in it, or the TT LSX volvo wagon floating around the web.

I think half the fun of driving around in a Corvette is the fast car look. I definitely favor a fast looking car over a sleeper. If all I was concerned about was speed, I'd buy a cheap Evo or something and get the most power I could out of it.

I can't count the times I've been at a traffic light and had people not notice they got the arrow, etc. because they never seen a 'vette with stripes. Then i give the throttle a tiny stab and they're like

Use to get numberous comments about what a sleeper my car was. But it got old really quick when it seemed every beefed up ricer, F-Body, and mustang wanted to challenge me.
