this is just a money maker, bottom line, it presents no more danger then a Jacked up 4x4, that you can not see into or what the driver has on his lap.
Yeah, I expect states to have tinting laws, but I would think that there would be more serious happenings in the town that would require the attention of law enforcement than to worry about someone's tint. I won't want my tax dollars going to pay someone to do that.
Here in North Dakota we have to have a FRONT license plate (that includes all you out of stater's also who come to North Dakota)
I don't see how ND can enforce a front plate law on vehicles visiting from other states that provide only one plate (for the rear) to their vehicle owners. That's just crazy stupid!

Exactly. Are you saying that ND cops can pull me over if I happen to be driving through the state with plates on from a state that doesn't require front plates?

I hear you, I'm with you, and it's BS, but that's the way it is - I talked w/ my local representative about it (who by the way voted this year to only have 1 front plate) and he said the plate issue comes up every legislative session - main supporters of 2 plates are law enforcement and 3M (the company that supplies the license plate materials, GO FIGURE) -
We want to encourage people to visit our state, and what do we do, we have a law that allows you to be pulled over here, even if your state only requires 1 plate. Pure stupity!!!! But that's the way it is - as my post stated, it's plain and simple a way to pull you over to do FURTHER investigation.

"Miss, the legal tint in Kansas is 35% this is NOT LEGAL - license & insurance papers please" ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
5 minutes later he comes back with my ticket, I have to appear in court in may. I called the number on the ticket, it might be a possibility I won't have to go. The fine is $76
NEVER have I been messed with about the tint on my car... and it's been on there over 2 years. Oh well, live & learn.. I'll roll them down from now on I guess.
The rest of the week went good in Chicago thou..
I agree with you girl---just keep the windows down. I'll be getting my windows tinted to and hopefully will not have that problem--but I'll keep the windows down just to be on the safe side
That's a pretty cheap (unnecessary, not inexpensive) ticket...must have been a slow day for that officer.
That's what I'm thinking... Plus, I'm sure he wanted to make sure I had insurance. Kinda makes you think thou.. while he's giving me a ticket for my window tint, there was probably 2 drug deals or a shooting he missed out on.

The cops in OP don't have much else going on....Krispy Kreme must have been out of glaze.
Technically, in VA, equipment defects are a Secondary offense. You can't be pulled over for, tints, front plate, seatbelts, in and of itself. You would have to be pulled for a moving violation first, then cited the other offenses. Thank GOD I've run into NICE cops. When I got my ticket in Feb, I had no front plate, tints, no county sticker. And the statey, didn't cite any of it, he did say, "NICE CAR"!

Lmao, i dont know what part of virginia your from but in central virginia, we pull for all of that. those are all traffic infractions and can be sited at will.
