Wow with this recent revelation, we should start seeing many more Lincoln Town cars at the road coarse track. Wouldn't want to be in a Corvette up against one of those animals.
I tend to agree on one aspect of the Town Car/CORVETTE comparison. I never had a car, aside from luxury, that had suspension "float" in it with only 30K on the shocks. I was "SHOCKED"
(pardon the pun), that the Corvette did it. Now, my car had base suspension FE 1, (which has been fixed) Z-51, but this is a trend I've noticed in a lot of GM vehicles. I finally sold my '92 Pontiac Transport because the porpoising suspension gave me Motion sickness, I dumped that "beauty" with 18K miles. I can see where the gentleman would come up with that comparison.

I went from an 88 Vert to a 00 Vert, my 88 had the Z52 suspension option and the 00 had the FE1 suspension, I would have to agree that the ride in the 00 did feel softer, but I wouldn't say my 88 would have out handled it. After the addition of Hotchkis Sway bars and a set of Bilstein Sport shocks, the ride is definitley stiffer in the 00. The one thing I would also say is that I liked the seats in the 88 C4 better then the 00 C5 when it comes to side support. You wouldn't slide from side to side in the C4. Over all though, The C5 is a whole lot more refined then my C4 was in many areas and I am not looking back.
Drove a C5 (2002) for the first time today. Yeah it was faster than my 92 but I wasn't impressed. The ride felt like I was driving a really fast version of my dad's Town Car.
I like that my C4 handles and rides like true sports car.
Shoot, that's what we LOVE about our 2000 C5! Our other car is a 2000 Town Car. Got the best of both worlds.
