I have a 12v accessory socket with a flip open rubber cover, but I don't have anything in the aft section of the compartment other than the two lift-off bolt covers.
I opened my center console and pushed the gas door open butten and I noticed, near the inside left rear corner of the open console, a small plastic cover that looked like it might be a cigarette lighter socket cover. I removed the cover and inside was a tiny black button. WTF is that? I dared not push it-what if its an ejection seat trigger? All kidding aside, what does pushing that butten do? I have no idea and I've never seen anything in my owners manual that explains it. I posted a similar post the other day and it was removed--sorry, I mentioned a gas station and its fuel prices, I must have been in violation. I certainly enjoy "Corvette Forum", will stay within the rules and appreciate the many great answers I've gotten already.

The cigarette lighter is on the front end of the console, not near the left rear corner. Could this possibly be a passengers air bag disable? It does not sound like a factory installed option. Do you still have contact info for the previous owner?
