I have a 12v accessory socket with a flip open rubber cover, but I don't have anything in the aft section of the compartment other than the two lift-off bolt covers.

I have no idea and I've never seen anything in my owners manual that explains it. I posted a similar post the other day and it was removed--sorry, I mentioned a gas station and its fuel prices, I must have been in violation. I certainly enjoy "Corvette Forum", will stay within the rules and appreciate the many great answers I've gotten already.

Thanks in advance,

Come on... the responses were funny!!!

So, did you figure out what the button was for?

The cigarette lighter is on the front end of the console, not near the left rear corner. Could this possibly be a passengers air bag disable? It does not sound like a factory installed option. Do you still have contact info for the previous owner?

Did some research...It's the passenger seat "bimbo" eject button.
