Default WTF iS THAT!!!!???

I opened my center console and pushed the gas door open butten and I noticed, near the inside left rear corner of the open console, a small plastic cover that looked like it might be a cigarette lighter socket cover. I removed the cover and inside was a tiny black button. WTF is that? I dared not push it-what if its an ejection seat trigger? All kidding aside, what does pushing that butten do? I have no idea and I've never seen anything in my owners manual that explains it. I posted a similar post the other day and it was removed--sorry, I mentioned a gas station and its fuel prices, I must have been in violation. I certainly enjoy "Corvette Forum", will stay within the rules and appreciate the many great answers I've gotten already.

Thanks in advance,
HP

I don't think that's a factory option

A pic would definitely help... near the rear of that compartment, I don't recall any buttons. There are two plastic covers that cover the bolts (which are also black). Are you sure it's a button?

Three things I can think of that would ordinarily mount there or nearby.

Nitrous purge, methanol injection purge, or a line lock button.

I thought that was supposed to be a "socket" for plugging in a cell phone, etc. I've never paid any attention to mine, and if yours has a button, I have no idea

don't really know for sure, but one thing it could control is the radio antenna. because some year models, the antenna comes up even when you play the cd. some don't like it including me. thats where I might put it when I install my switch
