Let's say hypothetically you lived in Mass. and got a speeding ticket in your corvette in NY. and ignored it. What happens these days in a situation like this?

You'll get greetings in the mail in the form of a Bench Warrant issued for your arrest. If stopped in the same state again, you may get a free trip to the Gray Bar Hotel. I would doubt they would extradite your buns from one state to another unless there were numerous tickets outstanding.
Your own state may refuse to renew your license once it is due for renewal-

If Mass and NY reciprocate (I don't know if they do), while you won't be arrested out of state for the unpaid ticket, it would show up on your DMV record. You would then still get hammered for Insurance and like previously mentioned you may not be able to renew your license untill it's resolved
Why chance having just a speeding ticket (from a state that borders your own) turn into a speeding ticket plus failure to appear charge, along whatever else they may add to it?
How long ago was it? Years ago, I got pulled over in PA and the trooper told me that if I paid it in 10 days New Jersey would never here about it. I was very skeptical because NJ pulls in all violations. But I paid it in 10 and it never did go on my record.
Probably was a local civilian with a mock trooper car and fake ticket that just got a free check from me.

Those states have reciprocity which means that points earned in one state will transfer to another. It depends on if the violation you got ticketed for earned you points. If it did, they will show up on your Massachusetts driving record. If not, then you have nothing to worry about with points. But the fact that you didnt pay your ticket means that your license will be suspended in New York. I dont believe the suspension is transferable. So you wont be suspended in Mass, just NY. Make sense? Rules can differ state to state so...???
