Default DIC and LED Display started flashing

This morning the DIC as well as the Radio Display started flashing.
I think that it stops after a long while no sure how long since I was keeping my eyes on the road. I hoped it would just reset after sitting off for a while but it started back up after work.

Has anyone seen this symptom before? I did a search here but didn't find anything useful, I have in the recent past checked my grounds.

Not your standard default flashing I know what that looks like this is definitely NOT normal.

Check battery. I had the same type thing recently and battery was low.

Not sure what could be wrong with the battery? The car starts fine no weak starting.

I did notice stranger stuff going on though besides flashing.

When I lock the car with the remote key FOB, the horn blasts like the alarm tripped.
When I turn on the Headlights the Turn indicators light up solid.
When I use the turn signals, both indicators flash, like the hazards are on, however the Blinkers at the rear bumper appear to work correctly.
The flasher, blinks faster for the right turn indicator than for the left turn indicator!

I will look at the AC Condensate drain like Corvette00Car has suggested below.

I know it isn't summer yet but just for laughs check the udder for the AC condensate drain. If its clogged the evaporator box fills with water and dripps onto one of the computers causing all kinds of nasty stuff.

I guess I'll do a search for where the drain is. Thanks.

Default Update

I realized that when I step on the brake the blinking starts.
I heard a relay clicking so I replaced it (Right Day Time Running Lights)
I thought it solved most of my issues ( the flashing) but not.

I'm starting to think I should replace the Hazard Flasher/Switch or drill a hole into it and spray some electrical contact cleaner.

Anyone concur?

if the symptoms were limited to just turn signal problems, then i would suspect the hazzard switch, but to also have that horn/alarm problem as well as the flashing display and DIC, I am starting to wonder f your problem may be the turn signal stalk itself, although I still don't see how the horn sounding when you lock it could be caused by that.

I will make a few suggestios to see if we can find anymore details. First, I reommend that you explore under the battery carefully. The batteries in the first few years were prone to leaking, there is a lot of wiring and vaccum lines under it - check them for any signs of corrosion. Next, pull the panel out in the passengers footwell and inspect in there for any sign of dampness. Finally, pull the DIC codes to see if anything shows up inn there.

Default Some Codes

I pulled some codes: after resetting them all these remained after a short drive.

B2578 RF Turn Signal Monitor Circuit (Short to Voltage)
B2583 LF Turn Signal Monitor Circuit (Short to Voltage)

C2120 TPM System Malfunction (No Sensors Received) - I have wheels with No Presure Sensors.

No Corrosion under the battery, battery looks good, flushed the drain that's behind the battery, no clogs there.

The Passenger footwell is dry and the relay box is dry too.

Thanks

Does the Turn Signal/Multifunction switch seem to be the most promising culprit?

Turned out it was a bad ground.

There's a Sticky Thread (http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=896875) in Tech, by Bill Curlee, It's about electrical problems. See photos for splice box and their locations.

The Splice box in the engine compartment on the passenger side was my culprit!

Cleaned the grounds (also cleaned them a year ago as preventive maintenance). Cured all the craziness.
Looks like there was a LOT of dirt and sand in the Ground Pack at the front of the engine compartment on the Passenger side.
I guess i'll have to clean them every spring now.
Now to go do an EXTENSIVE test drive

Glad you found the problem. Thats an awesome post by Bill

Must say I'd have suspected a leaking battery so good to hear that the ground was the problem.
