Hindsights 20/20. I think all the small bolt on crap was a waste.

My suggestion is talk to a few guys and decide which supercharger you want.

Forget the headers and all the throttle body nonsense...forget the intakes...forget the cam..

In hindsight? I should have just gone with a supercharger kit.

Not looking for more than 500 rwhp? I'd probably have gone the supercharger route instead of all the bolt ons and the cam install.

Not that I'm dissatisfied its just for the same money I'd be running a more powerful and easily sold seperately at the end package.

very few want a modified car..so a nice supercharger package w/an easy 500rwhp can be unbolted pretty easy at the end.

Today the superchargers are very reliable 500rwhp products..

Going above that can cause issues on the bottom end but for the most part....

Its a reliable 500 rwhp and you have to know in the end of cam/headers/heads thats what you'll want anyway..(6 months into it)

Keep it stock or do a supercharger.

My mods have been subtle exterior and creature comfort interior types. I know once I get under the hood it will never end, I bought a Z06 to get MAX factory HP and that will have to be good enough. The only mod I'm not completely happy with are acrylic turn signal blackouts, they look good but don't fit very well.

This was an excellent thread, a quickie primer on what to watch out for/stay away from. Good job Vette'n04!

I can honestly say that there is not one thing I did to my Vette that I regret. Every mod was carefully thought out and planned accordingly. My only regret is personal and that is having to work so damn hard for every penny (lot's of OT). I've worked over 2 months straight at times without a day off. Now don't get me wrong, I very happy I had the opportunity to do it but a 100k+ figure income within a normal work week would make life much easier not to mention modding.

I'm easily getting way over 25hp more.
50hp if I use the hazard flashers

And with my performance hood seal, I'm easily putting down 600rwhp.
I am surprised you did not do the entire pkg. Add the
tail light seals and pick up another 30 rwhp

...well, that's one of the good decisions I've made in my life (even a blind squirell...). When I
put my HUD in I PAINTED my bezels. I was of the opinion that the aluminium glue ons would
eventually fall off.
My worst mod was the hydrostatic CF console stuff from VE...starting to bubble on me.

Went from '99 stock cat backs to Corsa Tourings - not a bad mod - but within 3 months I had Corsa Indy's (Pace) on. Mo Better!

Buying the entire screen kit and only using the Z06 Front Screens as all the other are crap as they are SUPPOSED to be held on with 3M tape but they don't stick and are the wrong shape to be held in place

Oh well, you live and learn
