Save yourself the $6 just buy Shell V-Power or another top tier gas... www.toptiergas.com
Went to the website (thanks). Mobil-Exxon is remarkably missing from the list. Isn't Mobil one of the first to offer detergent gasoline many years ago, and still advertise themselves as a leader in the ability to "clean your engine?" Unfortunately, I use them almost exclusively (the speedpass IS convenient), but after my first bottle of Techron this past weekend, the Z06 is surprisingly smooth even though I've used Chevron in the recent past on the odd tankful. Thanks again, CF!!

I've heard bad things about shell gas for 35 years, something about gumming up the valves. Maybe no longer an issue, but it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks. But then a hot rod mechanic told me last month to avoid Shell like the plague. Anybody else heard this?
Yes, I have heard the same thing about Shell several times, and from car techs, mechs, nuts, and racers. Shell supposedly has higher sulphur content than some other brands. Unfortunately no Chevron in Colorado, so it's Conoco/Phillips for me, with Techron twice a year.
I absolutely would not use it every tankfull or even every four. The concentration of the additive in the gas is less than the bottle, so a couple or three times a year (unless the owner is attempting to cure an issue) is plenty for me.
