So are you supposed to wave to all 'vettes or only your own model?

All years, but from experience, C6 owners won't wave back. They're clueless.

That is exactly why I asked, I think it is an inferiority over flip up lights...

It's the "new" vette owners that are clueless. They've never owned anything but the C6 they are driving, and have no regard for lineage and heritage. They bought it, not for the love of the car, but for the status. They need to be edumacated on vettiquitte. Just my .02

The hand-wave topic came up about a 6 or 8 weekis ago, and being a C5 owner for almost a year, I was not sure what the protocol was. I happened to comment that I only waved to C5 owners and most of the folks commented that the wave is universal across all corvettes.

As for the C6, a nice shiny black C6 pulled up next to me at a light yesterday and he didn't hesitate at all on the wave... actually beating me to it.

If they wave they wave, if they don't they don't.
It's no big deal

I waved, and got waved at, by several C5s and C6s in ocean city Md this past weekend. The one C2 I waved at didn't acknowledge me and neither did the C4. I know they saw me wave too

I usually wave or give a nod to all Corvette's and any other cars, that I think are cool. Makes them feel good and costs me nothing. So here's to ALL the car nuts and gear heads out there.

I've noticed the same C5's wave but C6's not so much.

I wave or give the at all vettes. Most wave back, some don't. It's like when I ride my motorcycle I wave at all riders, not all wave back most do.

From my experience about 4/5 wave back... Yesterday I waved x2 to a EB C5 identical to mine with the exception that it was a Z06 lol. The dude stared at me like I was crazy. We even lined up at the light.

I've owned a C3...C4....& C5 and wave at all vettes. I've gotten waves from C6 owners. To be truthfull I don't always see every corvette. Some pass by untill it is too late to wave. We are supposed to be looking at all angles of the road ahead!

I wave at all Corvettes.

My opinion: the newer and more expensive the car, the less likely you are to get a wave.
