I use the Blueant Supertooth II and am very pleased. Simple, totally painless install. GREAT reception on both ends. I was a little skeptical about using a rechargeable battery but it goes a long, long time before recharges. I have 2 units and am contemplating a 3rd. ("So simple even a cave man or cave woman can use it") Available at newegg.com, Buy.com, other o/l sources.
Steven, look at the 660. I have that one and have used the bluetooth in my truck. Pretty slick operation.... Using the FM modulator the call goes through the stereo speakers and the mic in in the Garmin.

It's pretty slick and much better than fumbling with the phone. Even when someone does call me - I could never hear the phone cuz its in my purse.
Anyway.... My husband called me from his bluetooth system in his Acura and it was pretty cool. The only thing we noticed - was the signal was 'better' when my truck was sitting still in a parking lot. Once you started moving - the signal would kinda get choppy. I'm not sure if that was due to the bluetooth setups on both ends.....?? Not sure.
Right now - I gotta research on the garmin site about the *recognizing* the phone when its in the vehicle. It doesn't always pick it up when its in the car. When it does recognize it (and this is automaticly done) - it drops off frequently.
Thanks and looks like a Nuvi with bluetooth maybe in the future
We've been hands free for well over a year now. Best law ever passed. Still see the odd doofus using a phone and nearly coping with the driving but its dieing out.
I have mine in the drivers side sunvisor. no more miror but used the wires to keep power it works pretty good. i can hear people well but they cant always here me.
No but I have been using a bluetooth headset for years and like the hands free capability and that I can keep two hands on the road with my MN6
Me too. I used a Sony Akono which was a nice bluetooth headset but even with the volume at its max setting it was to low for me.
I recently switched to a Motorola H-700 which is their newest model and I like it a lot. I actually have to turn down the volume some. It is very small and lighweight to the point where you don't even notice that you are wearing it. The voice dialing makes driving and using the phone much safer than without bluetooth.
I don't recommend phone use while driving but if you have to, bluetooth is the way to go.
Does anyone get bluetooth interference on a 2008 vette. My bluetooth headset cuts out then reconnects when in the car.
It doesn't do it when in the office. Some signal from the car (no bluetooth that year) interferes. I disconnected the XM and put in the ipad module a few years ago. And I don't use ONSTAR.
