Mines a daily-driver and to answer the question, no it does NOT get old...
But what does get old is hearing my wife complain about how much $ I throw into it... And being 24 yrs old and having two kids and married really makes it hard to get my most use outta the vette.
I always look for an opportunity to drive the vette (to work mostly), but I in a way feel guilty, since it only sits two that the family cannot ride...
I've considered getting another C5 in the future so the wife can ride w/one of the kids and me and the other on my C5, but my wife doesn't share the same interest, she'd rather had a 04 GTO...
I guess at least it's still got the vette engine and more "family friendly," but I would say that is my only complaint about the vette. I still love her just as much as the day I bought her though...
If I drive my c5 for a few days and let it sit in the garage for a few days, then start it up and drive it agian , it feels great every time. I may feel different if I drove it every day.
Mine will never get old! I had an LS1 Trans AM, personally i woulda taken that car over any SS but thats me. I liked my T/A but I'd rather have my Vette anyday. There is something about that Vette that just brings you back to a state of euphoria everytime you are in it. Especially the C5! Mine is a 6 speed daily driver, and even though i come home from Washington DC in heavy traffic, its still a joy, just have to look forward to getting to speed after the traffic is over.
Driving a Vette never gets old!! Remember that when you are driving a Vette you are driving an american icon. I used to have an 11 second Mustang. One of my buddies told me that no matter how fast it was it was still a Mustang...he was so right. I never feel that way in my Vette.
When i first got my 2004 Vert it got pretty old because i wanted more hp.
So i put in a Hurricane Intake, X-pipe, B&B Prts, and a Hurst close ratio shifter. When that started to get old i put in twin turbos Now the only thing that is getting old is me
What used to be boredom (pre-vette) on the Interstate Highways has transformed into like riding just on top of the clouds in a jet plane. Complete and total satisfaction. At peace. Seeming to blend into one.
Not bad in city traffic either, even with MN6.
What was the question? - Oh.. the answer is *NO*, never.
I wasn't lucky enough to drive one as a kid. Got my first one about 18 years ago, an '84. Driving a vette doesn't get old but driving an old Vette does! The '8e is long gone and with 3 C5s in the stable I hardly ever saddle up my '68.
No - It never EVER gets old...I miss my vette STILL...I cared for it like a baby, drove it like I stole it (only a few times and race tracks), and enjoyed the heck out of it...I would give probably my left arm and half of my left leg to have it back...
