I have had a C2, C3, C4 and now the C5. I love the C5, but I also think highly of the C6. When it first came out, I looked at it and said "Viper". But it only took a trip to Sebring and watch the new C6-R in 05 and I was hooked on them. I read other post about how great the power is in the C5. Well I have not driven a C6 yet, but I believe it has more power then our C5's (stock C5's that is). Let’s face it every generation seems to get more refined and more high tech.
When I went from my C3 to my C4, I thought I died and went to heaven. Now with the C5, there is no comparison with it and the C4. It is so much more Corvette then the C4.
If I had to pick any other different generations, I would pick my C2 66 big block 427/425 for brut horsepower. But the C5 for the total package.

If what read is true about the popups, I do not like the idea of Europe dictating the styling cues of an iconic American sports car.
I've tried and tried to warm up to the looks of the C6, but agree with the other poster that said the only incarnation of it that looks okay to me is the Z06. I like the curvy coves of the C5 and just the overall flowing lines of the design.
Let's put it this way: I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything by driving a C5 as opposed to a C6. I can't imagine that most C4 owners could have said the same thing a few years after the C5 hit the streets.
I still like C6's, just not as passionately as I do C5's. It's like asking someone who their favorite James Bond actor is.
Well, being a fan of big back sides, I have to say I like the c5. But I supose I like the looks of the c6 just as well. Except the grill/intake area, reminds me of import somehow.
The looks of a C5 are timeless. But, I will dump it if the C7 somehow blends the edgy looks ofthe 06 Zo6 and the Sexy curves of the C3 Btw I love the wide rear end.
I certainly hope the C7 does not go retro. This turning back the clock to try and make the new cars look like the mid 60's I just don't like. I seen the purposed next Camaro, and I just don't like it. If I want a 67-68 Camaro, then I'll by a real mid 60's Camaro, not a 2008 or 9 that GM has tried to look like a 67. The C7 needs to be more advanced then the C6 and look like something new.
Every generation of the Corvette has been a step up in styling and technology. Lets keep it that way.
My opinion only remember.
My wife and I drove our 03 AE coupe in a HS homecoming parade last night (my wife is running for mayor). The homecoming queen contestants were riding in convertibles in front of us - BMWs, Mercedes, Porsche 911 Turbo. We had more kids tell us our car was cool, they wanted it, give me your car (checked to make sure they didn't have a gun ), and look at that Corvette.

I do like the C5 better than the C6. I think the C6 headlights look like a Lexus or something. I'll admit it took me a while to get over the C5's big butt. But I like it now....
The C6 is a nice enough car, but, let's face it, kind of ordinary looking. OTOH, the C5 Vette is one of the sexiest body styles ever crafted by the hand of man. The best comparison I can make is to the 1973 Lamborghini Miura S, which is perhaps the only car even sexier than the C5.
I am a c6 body style fan.Both models I have pros and cons:
C6 pros:
-headlight that don't pop up
-HID's
-no door handles
-Really aggressive looking especially the Z06 model
C5 pros:
-longer wheelbase
-oval taillights
flip the pros of each model around and those are my cons.
I could afford a C6 but I just can't bring myself to do it. I don't really like the looks of the cars. I think the Ls2 motors are crap that Gm sent out until they needed to sell more C6's and actually gave us the real motor the Ls3. The painted headlights look lame except on the black cars and the rear is chopped off. I admit it doesn't look to bad on the C6 Z06 because it has the flares and is more aggresive. The ultimate C5 for me would be a C5 Z06 with a coupe top and no stupid antenna.
