Default C5 Styling

C5 Guys...

How many of us are a fan of the new body style vs. C5.?

I think the flip up headlights need to make a comeback on the C7 in addition to making the body bigger.

I like the pop up lights too, the C6 is more modern but I like the throw back to the C3 styling. Big fender flares, pop up lights, swoopy lines.

I like the looks of the C5 more than the C6 and I would buy a C6 but only if it was the Z06. As for pop up headlights, I could care less. Id probably want them to keep the fixed headlights so we dont get crappy nylon gears in them. Remember the C1's have fixed headlights.

C6 looks too tall and narrow for me. I'd like the next vette to be wider and lower.

In my opinion...the C6 looks too much like a lot of other cars on the road.

My opinion on this , as if anyone cares.............lol
I think the c5 is the best looking corvette ever manufactured.

To me it looks more like a formula one car than does the c6.

It's lower, wider.....and you can see this when they are parked side by side.

I'm hoping for more from the C7

I am a c6 body style fan. Both models I have pros and cons:

C6 pros:
-headlight that don't pop up
-HID's
-no door handles
-Really aggressive looking especially the Z06 model
C5 pros:
-longer wheelbase
-oval taillights

flip the pros of each model around and those are my cons.

I think you are wrong on the C5 being lower than the C6. If I recall the original C6 release. The C6 is lower than the C5.

When I got my C5, since the C6 had come out, I did consider splurging a little more for the C6. But, what really hooked me to the C5 is the wider and lower appearance. I also like, as I think was mentioned earlier, that the C5 is close to the C3 styling which certainly was ahead of its time.

I've owned a C3, C4 and now my C5... Out of all I love my C5 the best. Can't beat the power and RIDE. Especially as I get older. As far as the C6 I like the looks of the rear, but not the front. Front looks European to me. My boss just bought a C6, after have an 01 Vert for 5 years, he said hands down the C6 rocks. Possibly he will let me take it for a spin. I still like the way my looks over the C6.

Someone told me there are new federal standards prohibiting pop up headlights, that is why there are not any new cars with them anymore.

Is this true?, if it is, that would eliminate the possibility of them on the C7.

Not sure which one is lower based on the specs, if nothing else visually the C5 does appear to be lower to me. Might not be, but at least the flow makes it appear that way. That is another thing I liked on the C5

I believe in Europe they have regulation about pop-up on new cars so that is why all the new exotic that had pop-ups now have fixed lights. GM wants to increase their European share so they have to follow the regulations. Just like any company that want to sell in the US have to follow US regulations

the c6 is 72.6 inches wide while the c6 Z06 is 75.9 and all C6's are 49 inches high

I had a 99 coupe when I first saw the C6, in 2004. I promptly traded it in on a new 2004. I liked the C5 much better, and still do.
