Hmmm, improper start and accelleration......can you get ticketed for going to slow? Say limit is 55, you go 50....and you get puulled over for "blocking" traffic. Can that happen?
I own a 1931 Model A Ford and was pulled over for only doing 35 on the Garden State Parkway. I did not get a ticket, but was made to get off the highway at the next exit. The Police Officer told me that the minimum speed was 45.
The truth is that (especially for us younger guys) getting ANY insurance company to cover us on our cars is damn near impossible and if we do the rates are quite large.

And - especially if the younger, or for that matter older person gets a moving violation (speeding or similar).
So what? If the LEO 'caught' someone in a violation - then the ticket is deserved - age doesn't matter.
Many times the posts you refer to are admissions of guilt - and the OP doesn't want to face the music - they want sympathy (not saying this is true for this thread - but ........[/B]
The point is this: if "manning up" means paying out the wazoo for years to come and possibly having your coverage canceled for something that's questionable, then there's a serious problem with being a man because it's like walking around with a huge target on your wallet.
Like Beretta said - don't do the crime if you can't pay the fine (or something similar ) Possibly the motto for CF should be "Don't speed, everything will be fine, or pay the fine"
This being said, many people gladly pay the fine if they're able to get their citation reduced to non-moving violation. There's also a reason law firms get $200+ to get rid of a $150 ticket.
Most have suggested traffic school - of course that means the person hasn't had another moving violation in 6 mo or so - no points, no insurance increase, etc.
If the person has more than one ticket in x time, and has done traffic school, then obviously the person did not learn much - giving them a 'pass' on another ticket is just not right
The ONLY way to get off completely without a lawyer once you have the ticket is to plead your case to the DA (who doesn't profit from ticket fines) and try to convince them your citation was unjust.
If he wrote you for exibition of speed.......Guilty, go directly to jail.
.
Been there done that! Squeal the tires and its an automatic exibition of speed. I was lucky, had just got in the state and still had out of state plates. The LEO was nice and just gave me a verbal warning.
If you do fight it. Win or loose you my be just asking for more unwanted attention.
Just do traffic school and be over it.
Exactly,,, if he's watching you you it's just matter of time. It's ..pay me now or pay me later. Keep the paid stub, if he still keeps harassing you then persuit it in court. Always sucks to get pulled over.
Could it be one of the following sections of the vehicle code?
CVC 22350. No person shall drive a vehicle upon a highway at a speed greater than is reasonable or prudent having due regard for weather, visibility, the traffic on, and the surface and width of, the highway, and in no event at a speed which endangers the safety of persons or property.
Good ol' 22350. Been charged with that one once!

If the officer didn't sign the citation, it's no big deal and don't expect the citation to be "thrown out" as some of the other posted have claimed. The Administrative Assistant in the traffic division will simply do an "amendment letter" to the court. We do them all the time whenever there is a mistake of any kind on a citation. I sign amendment letters everyday. A copy of the amendment letter will be sent to you and a copy of the letter will also be attached to the orginal copy of the citation before it's ever sent over to the court to be processed. It's a routine procedure, as mistakes are made everyday on tickets by officers.
Finally! Read it and weep "technical glitch" yellers.
Yeah you see a vette and you just know they are speeding!
Well that's what most think...
Good Luck with your ticket. I hope you win!
around here its called exibition of speed and you can get a ticket for it. as far as seeing a vette and assume that its speeding im going to have to disagree. 90% of the vettes i see (even before i got my last 2) are riding in the slow lane doing the speed limit or less on any road way with more than one lane. good luck with you ticket.
Fight the ticket. Plead "NOT GUILTY" and tell your side of the story without letting emotions getting involved. I have heard more than one judge state that you should fight all traffic citations. You are taking the time coming to court to fight it. Most courts will reduce the fine or charge. If you are telling all... you may even win. RESPECT the Court and all involved (that means wearing a suit and tie).
I'd definitely would fight it. Family member decided to fight a ticket and when the officer saw that they showed up in court he told the judge he couldn't remember the incident.
I carried out an improper start in Dubai, was done for wreckless endangerment & street racing. Car was jailed for 60 days. Commit the same offence this year and the car will be crushed and myself deported.
I just received a certificate from the Illinois Secretary of State for 3 years of "wreckless" driving.
