I have an 04 mag red mn6 with black interior. My previous vette was an 86 red a4. But it was the magnetic red that did it for me! it was love at first sight. With the old vette, I'll admit that , once in a while , I could be seen driving around with it not so clean as it should be (horrors!!). But, the 04 mag red is so striking, I absolutely have found religion about keeping it spotless. Most people that I encounter, will comment on how sharp that Vette is.
I was even considering buying an 08, but when I found out that GM had discontinued magnetic red, I said hell no. I was parked right next to the 08 in the color that replaced magnetic red and mine was ,far and away , the best looking car. Am i prejudiced? You becha I am. As far as I'm concerned , All Vettes are beautiful, but some are magnetic!!!
It's kind of wierd but I have also noticed that it looks different depending on the wax I used. That may be attributed to the detail that I used as well. Sometimes the metallic seems to come out more. As others have stated, the car looks different in different levels of light.
Try these two. Same place only about 30 min. apart.
Hense the 2 in Mag Red ll. Mark

EGGZZACTLY!!!! Mag red "changes" colors, depending on the angle from which you are viewing it, depending on the lighting conditions, depending on whether you are inside or outside, etc.
Mag Red is an AWSUM color, and I don't think you can exclude Mag Red Vettes when you say "I don't want a RED car" - as pointed out above, park a Mag Red Vette next to a red Vette, and you will see what I mean. Read is nice, but Mag Red is AWSUM!
Go for it, you won't regret it
PS: I'm partial to Mag Red w/ Black interior - take the top off and take some pictures, and the black interior w/ the Mag Red exterior just screams BOSS!
You would probably be happier with '03 AE edition. That color is more burgandy.
So the 03 and 04 Magnetic red are not really the same colors?[/QUOTE]
97-98 had Carmine red, then Mag Red first appeared in 99, reformulated at 01 to Mag Red II, was discontinued for 03. Then returned for 04 and was discontinued for 05 (C6). They brought a similar color back Monterey Red for 06 I believe and now in 08 that got replaced with Crystal Red.
Park a mag red next to a torch red and you will see how unique the mag red is. I have had more people comment on how much they love the color than I could count.
Now park a mag red next to an anniversary red 03 and you will notice the mag red really "pops out". BTW, mag red was not offered in 03, but it was in 04.
I always thought I would get a silver 'Vette. When I first saw mag red, it was an overcast day....the color was dark, almost maroon. It was ok, not great. The owner said, wait 'til the sun comes out, the color just jumps at you. I thought, sure...good sales pitch. Then I test drove the car. As the sun came out from behind the clouds, the car came alive with the metallic red flecks literally glowing. Wow! I was hooked looking out over the hood of what was to become my 99 vert. I get lots of compliments on the car's paint. Many folks think it is a custom paint job. My top and interior are black, which I really like. The only downside on the black is that the car can heat up on a sunny day when parked. I have a sunshade for the front window that alleviates that problem. I would probably want silver for a DD due to ease of maintenance. But if you don't plan to drive your 'Vette in the rain, mag red is tough to beat. Good luck!
Have a mag red 04 verte
would not trade it for any other color
My only complaint is the limited supply of accessories in this color vs the other colors
Would love to find a die cast verte with a black interior
I also have an 04 magnetic red coupe with the pewter/gray interior. It was my first choice for exterior color when I bought the car new, and it still is my favorite. I happen to like the pewter interior a lot also, although black works great with the magnetic red. I'm still up in the air about the calipers, although I am leaning towards a dark gray or a brand new Volvo color that looks like polished aluminum, even up close, even though it is actually paint.
