Now you understand MY POSITION, everything you related about being POSITIVE about GM, I have experienced with Ford. Each GM vehicle I've bought has turned into a warranty boomerang. I had that same 2.3 Pinto engine in a 1987 T-Bird Turbo Coupe (which I bought used with 80K miles) and I literally beat the snot out of it with a 5 speed (I even kicked the boost up to 21 PSI). I drove that car 240K miles without a tear down, then sold it for $1500. It was the BEST $3000. purchase I ever made. And, it had some serious electronics (like the Vette) and it NEVER FAILED. The original Motorcraft battery went 11 years. My experience has been the opposite of yours, therefore, from my perspective I'm not convinced. I hope to experience what you have, so far I haven't!

No real problems until 29,000 miles. The active handling would self activate, after taking it to my mechanic it was the steering wheel position sensor. Replaced it then drove down and put a new set of Michelin Run flats on and it Never drove, rode, and handled so well. Purchased the car new and GM should have installed Michelin's from the start.

16,00 miles
1. Drain at base of windshield plugged and water overflow shorted out wiper motor. Motor and controller replaced (covered under warranty)
2. Reflector on inner drivers door fell off. Glued it back on with Gorilla Snot
3. Trunk quit popping up when unlatched. Ordered a ‘TRUNK POPPER” spring.

Sorry, they still have the issue.

My 04 Z06 has only had the usual stuff... leaky butt, harmonic balancer. I put in the CLB, and Skip Shift Eliminator. My only complaint is that it doesn't attach itself to my butt as often as I'd like.

Default Not now, but ...

I bought mine used last October, from Carmax, and there were several things like cruise control not working, pass window would not go down, brakes locking up (replaced pads, booster, master cyclinder), roof leaking (adjust drivers window), throttle position sensor, replaced glass top because of crackes, wheel alignment, tune-up, replaced rearview mirror (auto dim), and ...

The car was not taken care of before. Turns out it was wrecked (rear end) as well.

I fixed all of the problems except for a "thud" noise coming from the left rear. Made many mods and did a lot of bolt-ons, C5 Z06 wheels. Now it seems to be OK.

Looking back, I spent way too much money for the car. If I had know, I would not have bought this one. I've spent $36k to $40k on an 2004 A4 coupe! Ouch! Should have bought a newer Z06!
