I wear a pair if Nomex flight gloves occasionally that I kept when I retired from the military. They are large and I take X large.
I put them on occassionally on long trips because when you flex your hands the flexible material gives your hands a good massage. They come in black and OD.
Gloves do help. I use both all weather golf/or baseball batters gloves. My hands can't take the cold any longer. I buy them at the end of summer sales and use them all winter.
Santa brought some soft, unlined leather gloves. Thought I would try driving with them.....MAN, what a difference....steering felt more solid and the stock shifter even felt smoother.....Anybody else drive with gloves??
I tried... But men in miatas and Volkswagens who spend far too much time doing their hair kept smiling at me...
This particular vendor runs a closeout on these gloves about once a year. The last time they did I "scarfed" up a couple more sets. Then sure enough they're still available. I doubt they'll be out of production anytime soon.
Our local Honda motorcycle dealer carries the very same gloves for ~ $30 a pair. As I mentioned earlier, they're so lightweight and comfortable, you can wear them year-round. Well except on the cycle in the winter...
I started driving with gloves when I had a 65 with a teak wheel to keep the oil from my hands off the wheel. Got so used to driving with good soft leather gloves that I never stopped and use them still today. I think they give you a better grip on the wheel, especially with aggressive driving.
that's what they are for, skinny, slick steering wheels.

Yes,, I use soft leather unlined gloves. It's mostly because they feel good holding the steering wheel. I also use them because it will keep the steering wheel free from sweaty palms on those real hot days. My steering wheel on my 99 looks like new ,,
