I've received two from PAYPAL this week that were obvious phishing scams since I don't have a PAYPAL account.
I go to "My EBAY"...if the messages are legitimate, they will be shown in "My messages". If not, I send a complete copy of the message to their security department.
I doubt anything much occurs there with the volume of this crap occurring daily around the world.
Thanks for the help on this. I'm new to e-bay but I'm never going to even look at e-bay again. Why don't they just call it scam-bay! What a frigging waste of my time.
Smartest thing you did was ask advice from other experienced in this area.
spoof@ebay.com
spam@ebay.com
Someone will get in touch with you from e-bay.
You should see the NCRS C1's that the scammers try to sell for 9k. They usually say that their father owned the car and died recently so they just want to clean up the estate or some dupe like that. Oh yea they are usually overseas somewhere and want you to wire them $2500deposit to ship the car here.
I report every one I find.
Dont'be

Just be careful - If it sounds too good -- you know the rest.
I was curious if you contacted the seller upmich68? If he is a honest e-bay seller which most of them are. His reply should be informing you thats its sold for $280. & that he shipped it to the winning bidder.
Most sellers will provide in their reply the shipping order tracking number & you can track the item movements.
Hope this helps you.

Yup, that's the same message I got and it wasn't through eBay messages, only to my email. I'm still not sure how they got my email, but it's the same scam.

I like this solution...
