Retired USAF with 23 years in various multi-engine transport aircraft all over the world, then flew Metro IIIs for a small regional carrier as Continental Express. Loved every minute of it!
Student Pilot checking in. I've been having trouble finding extra time/cash to finish my single-engine certification. It may have to wait a while, but it's somthing I definatly want to finish. I love flying! (the speed limits are much more lax when you enter the 3rd dimention)

Sorry I have an old friend from the military that did the same. Thanks for being up there for us!
It takes major huevos to fly what is essentially a giant bomb anywhere near a war zone.
Well I certainly agree with you although nowhere in my area do we have restrictions that require a descent starting that far from an airport. The only reason a controller would need to start an aircraft down are to meet the letters of agreements and SOP's with a joining sector or center that require an aircraft to be at this altitude by this boundry etc etc. Either way though 200+ miles is pretty far not sure whatsup with that.
Its happened a few times but mostly with Clevand. I was just bustin *****. When ever we head up from FXE to just about anywhere in the midwest except for the far out, non busy areas, by Clevland center I'm at least down in the low 30's watchin the boss's gas go buh by.
Its all good though. Most of the time us pilots are'nt seeing the big picture. Keep up the good work.
Well, I can't say I'm a pilot or active with planes but my family was involved with planes. My Dad was a left waist gunner in a B-17 out of Foggia Italy and here is my Uncle Norman in his P-38.
Both came home.....
I have been a Corvette owner since 1970 and a licensed pilot (Private SEL) since 1979. Don't fly much anymore but still work in Aviation related business.
I've been flying since 1973 - SEL Commercial Instrument and have owned an a/c for most of those years. Love it. Drive the vette to the airport pull the plane out of the hangar... Oh Yea!
I have my private ticket, but no plane. Have to update my medical to get back into the air but rental costs today really suk.
Used to get a 210 from the aeroclub (Air Force) for 17.50 hour wet. Now it's 125.
I even have three hours in a P-51 which was a real kick in the pants.
I'd give anything to get back into one, but can't afford it at this time. Perhaps when I retire. (or win the lotto)
Single engine land in high school--Beech Skipper.
20+ years flying for the AF: T-37, KC-135, and C-17s at the end.
Now I just fly a sim for Boeing.
