Oh yeah, be careful not to push the hanger bolts into the frame or you might have to remove part or all of the rear fascia.

Hey TB, Can you explain what you mean about pushing the hanger bolts into the frame. I finished installing a cat back last weekend and want to make sure I didn't do something wrong.

Thanks

Does someone need an anger management course?
I am toying with the cut out route myself and was wondering if the electric controls do and or will cease to function at some point would you be able to put a cable and **** system to open and close them...you know like the old chokes on the carbs in the 50's.

I am now on my third set after problems with some of the others. Some real quality control issues at least with the ones I had. Customer service was a bit lacking as well. Most of these electric cutouts all have some commonalities between them. But there are things to do separate some from the others.

If you do a search, you will find some have had no problems with brand A, B, or C, and others that HAVE had problems. Suppose it depends on lot of things.

I'm now running RRP electric cutouts and so far (8 months) I have had NO issues whatsoever with them.

PM if you want more info.

...

A nice mod... you can keep your fairly quiet exhaust for the road absent the drone, the open um up and feel your body shake from the resonance at higher RPM. Then, with a flip of a switch, back to quiet again.

You would know right away. Those four studs (2 each side) that you bolt the actual mufflers to.

Here's a picture of mine. I have McCords and had a problem with them last year. They quit working and I haven't taken the time to check them out yet. I suspect it is a wire somewhere that shorted out the fuse. I changed the fuse and it just blows again. Could be a burned out motor cause it gets awefully hot that close to the exhaust and headers.

I am thinking about trying the "old throttle cable" thing that was mentioned above. If anybody has done that, I would be interested in hearing more.

I drew up a similiar design for Stainless Works almost 3 years ago and had them polish the 3" pipe from the headers back..

Link to the install --> QTP dual electric exhaust cutout install...
