I come from the Honda world before this and I know all the products they made for turbo set ups were just plain horrible.
I'm very interested in the "New" version as well. I come from the Rotary world where I've literally seen exhaust manifold crack like peanut brittle in a matter of weeks.
WHAT again have they changed to avoid the catastrophic cracking ?
Rick, what were some of the fitment issues with the new ones? How long did they take to install, and how did they fit up to the catback? Just curious to see where the real problems were.
I just checked with SSAC and the boss said that they will not be offering a package price deal for the forum members anymore. He also said that the final fitments of the latest generation headers will be in the next 10-14 days...
We shall see, when they get us a set we wil fit test them ASAP

The pricing set will be up to them, we are assisting with the fitment only, and have no control over what price they chose to sell them for.

The problems were staring us in the face as soon as we opened the box, so we did not attempt to fit them on a car, we shall see when we get the next set back.

Believe you me i have read all the bad press as well. I have no explanation for any other products made buy this company. I will say that we have been very impressed with the quality of welds and structural integrity of these headers for the price, they are really nice and well made, they just need to fit right and they will be a great header for the budget minded owner.
AT the prices I've been seeing here,it has me wondering what material they are made of. SS,mild steel, if that painted ,ceramic? Being retired I have to watch the budget,,and the price of other systems I never even thought about them. Sounds like these could be something I could save up for. What are they made of???

SUS 321 stainless actually, better heat properties then regular 304. It's used mainly in the aircraft industry on plane exhausts. I suspect SSAC has a contact in the aircraft industry due to the material and the quality of the welds...
Only problem with it is that it SHOULD be TIG welded, but other guys have MIG welded em OK.
i got good performance gains out of mine. but the one issue i have had with mine is that the driver side header rubs against the steering shaft causing steering issues when making hard right turns from the motor shifting a little.
(example : going 60 mph on an off ramp that curves to the right the steering gets stiff because of the contact with the shaft)
i called rich lane who is the person who registered their website and owner of the company i guess. he was great to talk to and told me to email sales@ssautochrome and tell them that he said to send me the revised set of headers for free. he was very sincere and apologetic, great customer interaction.
On the other hand, I have sent 3 or 4 emails now to them and have had no response to any of them in about a week or 2. I like the headers alot other than this one clearance issue.
