My 2002 Coupe (MN6) has 35K mi. Purchased in Oct 2003 with 29K.
Bought GMPP Dec 2004 (at end of factory warranty).
Paid $1645 for coverage (48 mos / 32K mi / $0 ded)...gotta love Dennis Fitchner.
At current pricing (which could all change in 5-6 months), would you renew/purchase GMPP ???
$2330 - (36/24/50)
$2170 - (36/24/100)
$1910 - (36/24/200)
Thanks for your comments.
FYI, to date, GMPP covered $1,200 in repairs (leaky differential, climate control display). No plans to sell.

I agree completely with Glennm27. The $100 or $200 deductible doesn't sound like much UNTIL you consider that it's the first $100 or $200 each time you take the car in for an issue. Over a couple of years with a few problems, that could add up to a lot more than the overall price difference for $0 ded. Just my $.02 FWIW. Good Luck.
Since you plan on keeping the car I would definitely buy. I have an '03 and like yours, they are starting to get a little long in the tooth. I purchased my GMPP from Dennis (he is the best!) and hope to extend if available when the time comes. To answer the rest of your question I would opt for the lowest deductible. Just my $.02. Good luck.
$0 deductible is not available on any vehicle older than 2005. Some customers renew and some do not. Pricing is higher on renewals and a lot of customers have a hard time when they paid $1000-$1200 for original coverage and it is $2500-$3000 to renew. Is what they forget is their car is 4-6 years older and has 40-60K more miles than when new.
Remember you can renew your GMPP as long as you have 2 months and 2000 miles left of original GMPP. If you would like a quote or need me to check to see if you qualify simply email me your VIN and current miles to me at gmpp@fichtnerchevrolet.com or dfichtner@fichtnerchevrolet.com.
Got my beautiful 2004 Vert out yesterday (first day of insurance for this year), drove it to work to get the oil changed, got stuck in a group of vehicles going onto the interstate and a d__n UPS truck nailed my windshield. $1800 later for a windshield, talk about sick to my stomach.
From past similar discussions, I'm surprised there weren't some naysayer comments about extended warranties "are a waste of money", "fix it yourself" and "spend your money on mods".
I have GMPP on each of our current vehicles and wouldn't (be able to) own a Corvette without an extended warranty nowadays. In every case, with the exception of our Z16, we've spent less on the policies than has been covered on major expense repairs.

I wouldn't own a C5 or C6 without the safety net of a warranty (extended or otherwise) Unless you are prepared to "pay to play" by "spending your money on mods" I would just get GMPP with the lowest deductable that you can afford

Damn Dennis, That sucks. Death to all UPS trucks.

I am facing that same decision soon. My 2002 C5Z GMPP expires in August and I am wrestling with that decision: renew my GMPP or take my chances. Another factor weighing on my decision is that I may sell my C5Z next year and get a C6Z. If so, the GMPP should make my C5Z more attractive.
I can say that my original GMPP easily payed for itself. I had about $1500 in repairs compared to the GMPP Major Guard cost of about $700. But with a renewal of around $2500 with a deductible, more thought is required.

When/if you decide to sell your C5/Z06 for that C6/Z06, you can either sell the GMPP warranty separately from the car to the buyer, or contact GMPP for a refund on the policy.
The seller of my Z16 had purchased a four year extended warranty (0 $ deductible/60,000 miles/2010) when he ordered the car new from the dealer. He offered to sell it to me when I bought his car.
When I calculated the cost of transferring his existing contract to me at that time vs buying another contract in 12 months (additional mileage/age of car/GMPP increases), it was a good decision in my opinion.
