Yo George! BackNBlack! Don't leave a brother hangin' here! I need to know which red wire to tap into with that second diode. Everything else has been done! Thank you in advance!
The red wire you want to use is the long red wire that goes from the connector to the circuit board. Im gonnna draw a picture for reference. I'll be home from work in a few minutes.

Thanks. My main problem is that I see no long red wire from any connector. I've got the red and orange wires on each side that are tied together via resistors and the only other red wires I see are jumpers connecting the three boards to each other. One, off to one side, appears longer than the rest of them, but I don't get the connector reference at all so I'm not sure if I'm tapping into the correct one or not.
Make sure of your diode orientation. The Cathode end should always be toward the wire with the resistors. Its not quite clear in my picture. An artist I am not.

Ugh. I got the diode orientation correct and just tried to power up my first completed lamp. No light at all. Not good. When I hit the brakes, the center cluster lights. But the halo is totally out...

What you CANNOT see in the pictures is the diode that is also connected to the white positive wire before it hits the resistored wires. Man, and I thought I was being very careful and tidy while I was doing all this stuff. I am totally bummed... While I await your reply, I'm going to try the other lights and see what they do. I'm assuming that I should be able to plug in one lamp at a time and test them that way...
Well, whatever I've done wrong, it seems fairly consistent, at least. Halos non functional - whether lights on or off. Brake center lights, functional. Could it be that I spliced into the wrong wire with that second diode? I went via your drawing, which was the lower of the two yellow wires I had. Maybe I should have spliced the other one. Maybe I'm sending ground to the red/orange wires that terminate to the resistors cluster.
I made the mistake of heat shrinking everything on the one that I finished, so for the sake of the photo, here is one that isn't finished yet, with the 2nd diode "resting" against where it would be soldered later.
Do you have a volt meter? Plug the light in the harness. Take the black lead of the volt meter and connect it to ground, you can use the ground strap that is located in the rear bumper by the antenna. Use the red lead to probe the two yellow wires while someone hits the brake pedal, let me know what voltage is present at each yellow wire.

if you have a 12v power source, i reccomend grabbing a 3157 socket from your local auto parts store. This wil save you countless trips to the car and help you identify power adn ground wires in the comfort of your air-conditioned/heated home.
