I just paid $4.09 for premium at Chevron here in Thousand Oaks, CA. The lower-tier gasoline is starting to look good. But then it will probably ruin my fuel sending unit and then I am going to have to repair that. It is a vicious cycle!
Very cheap........here in the north Quebec Canada 1 hour drive from US border ( champlain NY) the fuel super is 1.41/litre X3.78 L=....... we pay 5,32 gallons....

I'll give you some cheap gas for some of your cheap meds
Regular just went to $3.59 - $3.65, depending on what part of town you're in. I paid $3.83 for 93 oct for the vette a few days ago. I'm not selling the vette for anything and it was the best mileage car I had until...
I bought a Prius for my daily drive to work ~85 miles per day round trip and ~500 miles per week with all my other driving. My '99 Tacoma used 2 - 2.5 tanks a week; ~ 28 - 35 gallons total. The prius is making it on one tank a week (~ 10.5 gallons [11.9 gallon tank]) and currently averaging 46.5 mpg per tank after 4 weeks and 2100 miles. The mileage is actually improving and is supposed to get better at ~ 6k - 10k range when the car breaks in (they have Prius forums that are just like this one...imagine that). I expect to average 48 - 50 mpg in the future.
The price of gas will never drop significantly. Eventhough the consumption has flattened for the first time ever in the US, developing countries like China are building roads like the US did in the 1950's and consumption is rising dramatically. The overall demand is rising for a commodity that is shrinking; and yes...there is even a limit to it. The largest known oil field in the world is half gone. We have burned the plentiful & most easy-to-get oil for the last 100 years...so what can we expect.
You should watch this if you haven't. I know its a bit chaotic, but I believe theres more truth than fiction. http://www.abc.net.au/science/crude/
I thought about adding a daily driver with good gas mileage since I pack on the miles fast... but, the extra cost of insurance + maintenance +depreciation on a second car, even one getting ~45 mpg, still cost dramatically more than just getting 24 average in the C5.

I did the math with my truck to determine when, just based on gas prices (not insurance, maintenance, etc.) the car would be "free"...the car payment covered by the savings in gas. That point is $5.00 a gallon based on my current consumption and assuming 45 mpg with the Prius. I'll admit that we're a ways from $5.00 a gallon, but I considered a few additional things. First of all the Hybrids in my area of the country haven't "taken off" yet. In places like California some people are paying above MSRP to get one. I was able to get a significant discount off the sticker (over $1700) and will probably get to claim some of the $2100 federal tax credit in 2008. As gas prices rise people will buy more of them; so I took advantage of the Hybrid market in the North Eastern US. I didn't trade anything in but a lot of people are going to see some crappy trade-in dollars on their SUV's because no one will want them. I still find it amazing that anyone would buy a Hummer right now...they are definitely cool vehicles with some very low prices currently; but it'll suck to drive one in the near future for sure. It would seem that with high gas prices the demand may go down some; but who knows for sure. I was concerned about availablility of gas as well. Maybe I have the cash, but if i can't buy all I wan't then thats a problem too.
So...I think the decision is a bit more complicated than the current price of gas. I'm extremely happy that I bought it...I feel great buying 10.5 gallons of gas once a week instead of 30 gallons in 2 or 3 visits. Besides...it does make you feel that you're "helping".
I just passed my local Sunoco station by my home, and the prices here in SE Pennsylvania jumped $0.21 cents last night alone! Sunoco 93 is at $3.79.9 I think we're gonna see a 'New" corvette accessory. . . Locking Gas Caps!
Sorry but there is no help in site.... those who understand the spculation in oil price are now estimating when it will hit $200 a barrel vs the roughly $120 it now is.....
SO expect $4.50 this summer (possibility of $5) and expect $10/gallon within the next 3-5 years.
