Don't know if Mercury writes policies out there, but try them
They beat my best prices by more than $300 and I shop insurance at every renewal period
Also - I work for an insurance company, get an employee discount, and Mercury still beat that
I've got Mercury and they are literally a thousand dollars less a year then any other companies I tried. They haven't been bad to work with yet.
I tried Geicko and they were more money for me then Mercury. It's different for everyone depending on age, location, record, etc. Allstate was the highest for me. State Farm and Geicko were in the middle.
My dad worked at Travelers and my mom still has their insurance. She has never had a problem. Good luck!
I have Liberty Mutual and they are awesome!!!! Our agent is like a life saver!!! Our montly payment for the 2001 Z, 2008 Fusion, and liability only for our beater-99 Crown Vic is $188. Not too shabby!

If you're 50 or over check out the AARP web site. Discounted rates through Hartford. Cut my previous rates by about $1,600 per year.
AARP wouldn't insure me because I have a Vette. I've had Allstate for 25 years. I have 2 sports cars, a new truck and a Focus. With the ol ladies 2 tickets I still pay less than $2k a year full coverage and way over the minimun requirements. I've thought about Haggerty for the Vette but haven't called yet.
I've been with USAA for almost 7 years. Right now I pay just over $680 every 6 months for full coverage with a $500 deductible my 98 C5 and a 03 Grand Caravan. This is even after my wife had two fender benders and a ticket about 4 years ago.
i tried all of them on line to get rates, and liberty mutual was the cheapest for my 2000 4wd frontier and my 2000 coupe. haven't had any incidents, so i can't tell you about their claim service.

Unfortunately we have had a claim service when someone went off the road and hit our parked Z06 that we had for only 4 days!!! Very fast and efficient. They worked with us really well. The only reason we even had a claim is because an illegal immigrant hit us and cancelled their insurance the midnight BEFORE they hit us.

I had my company of 30 years (Calif. Casulity) refuse to cover the Vette when I bought it......despite the 30 years as a customer.
AARP lists the Vette on the website and produces quotes for it so wondering why they refused you
I've got Farmers on the `01 Vette, Dodge pickup, new Rav4, three Harleys and home insurance. They treat me very well. I think it's about $325.00 for six months on the Vette, but I'm an old scudder with a very clean driving record.
Man, I can't believe that some of you guys pay like, 3-4k a year on insurance. Maybe some of you guys have a lead foot?
I'm 22, male, so I think I fall into the "high-risk" category of drivers. I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix and a 2001 Corvette insured thru Geico, and I pay $870 a year. That is 100/300 limits, liability only on the GP, and $500 deductibles on the corvette. I think that when I was rate shopping, Progressive had quoted me something like $1500 a year, and Allstate quoted me like $2300 a year! So needless to say, I went with Geico
