Gotta add :: the inspiration for the gasp, California duster was a for sale thread when I was shopping for a C5.The dude stated, a duster had NEVER touched his car.It was clay bared and waxed every month, and washed every time before being returned to his climate controlled garage. It has never seen rain and was never parked for long in the sun. I guess I would sell it too,,,too damned much work!!!
Not true. My '02 ordered and bought new (I ordered Pewter just for this reason) is Pewter, but it was replaced in '03 with Metallic Spiral Grey, another favorite of mine. Looking at GM from past production colors we may see Pewter used in the future. As far as preference of colors they don't make Corvettes in a color I don't like, They're ALL good!
I agree with Ed. Pewter was available thru 2002. Again, Ed is right on, there is no bad colored Corvette.
I have 03 107,500 on the clock wash it once a week when it doesn"t rain wax once a month and as you can see by the mileage drive it like I stole it also have to keep the grin off my face it hurts
Pewter here too. I just sold my Black Z28. As great as it looked when it was clean and dust free, it was just too frustrating keeping it that way. Granted, all cars get equally dirty, but my C5 stays cleaner looking for much longer. I love black, but I doubt I will ever own another black car.
Taking my 98 Pewter Coupe to Georgia on Memorial Day with a bunch of other veterans to partake of a day of golf. Two stand bags in the back and two old guys up front. My "economy car" gets around 29mpg so it is much cheaper to drive than the Suburban or my buddy's Duramax 2500 diesel.
Washed it today and will hit it again when we get back. Clean and drive clean and drive. Now if I can just last 18 holes of golf.
I know of someone who shows and wins everytime they enter, and the car is a daily driver. It is a lot of work, more than I could even do and I don't even have a daily driver.
I DD mine rain or shine and usually keep it 5ft. clean. (From 5ft away it looks perfect). I take it to a DIY car wash every few days and hit it with the spray soap then a rinse. I never even touch the car, just rinse the dirt off. When I feel like going crazy I take a little time and make her into a beauty queen. A little dirt, dust, and grime won't hurt!
You got that right. I'm not too paranoid about my 97. The paint has all sorts of swirl marks in it that i have yet to completely buff out. I believe it should be kept reasonable clean, but not at the expense of having fun.
