Default Active handling

Well here is my issue, About two weeks ago I'm driving home from work on the highway and I start to slow down to get off on my exit, I apply the brakes and the pedal vibrates and jerks the car a little bit , I get the message on display saying "Active handling" but it goes away so I thought I might have hit a bump on the road or something, since that day it it keeps happening from time to time. Well lately I have been getting the display saying "SERVICE VEHICLE SOON, SERVICE ACTIVE HANDLING" and the traction light comes on (the amber light that lights up when you turn the traction control off). It keeps flashing the message until I hit "reset" twice but the light stays on. Also when this happens I cannot switch into Competitive mode but can turn the traction control on/off so then its just an issue with the Active Handling.

My question is has anyone else had this issue? If so what did you do to correct it, what was the cost

I also check the codes when this happens but the display reads NO CODES
Thanks guys/gals, any help would be much appreciated

It's a very common issue. It's brought up about twice a week. The solution ranges from cleaning contacts on plugs to replacing a computer. Take a look though some of the other posts and see if you can't find any more info or where to start. I have the same problem but it just happened once in a while. I've been meaning to get out there one of these days and clean every plug connection I can find as dirt or rusting contacts on plugs are a common problem.

best of luck

I have a similar problem. i've tracked it down to the steering wheel position sensor. I already had the EBCM replaced after a C1214. I've also cleaned the connectors and it improved for a while. Now its an intermittent C1287. One of these days I'll change the sensor.
