I'll admit that sometimes I wonder if it's time to sell the vette... between high gas prices and insurance on a car that I only drive about 5K a year, maybe it would be worth it to make space in the garage for the other car and other hobbies. Fact of the matter is, I kind of dig the appeal of another kind of automotive high-performance... good gas mileage. If that Chevy Volt is as good as it could be, it might become the Chevy in my garage.
Kind of a ramble, but I see where the OP is coming from.
WOW!!!!! you guys really impressed me with your civil responses ,thanks . i hate to drive [actually, i hate to leave the house] . put about 2000miles on c2 in 7 or 8 years and around 2000 on c5 in 2+ years including 600 bringing it home from virginia . my only 2 friends ,man and wife, live less than 1/4 mile from me and i talk with them less than a dozen times a year . in any case there is a really nice c3 [yellow] that i'm keeping an eye on , i'm convinced these things are an illness .

Sounds like you are a collector, not a driver. The ultimate garage queen for your vehicles. It's time to call Barrett Jackson and let someone appreciate them and drive them more.
The least you could do is get out to car shows with your Corvettes and let someone see your masterpieces.
It's almost like breathing, I have to drive my vette every day, even in the winter.
