I had a blue C6Z come flying up on me 2 weeks ago. Old guy obviously thinking I had daddy's car out on a date. He tried to race me, but I politely and let him go on by.
You were doing so well Nouman, why did you have to make that guy question his purchase at the end when you "forgot" something, his Z is newer and cost more, therefor has to be faster then this evil looking C5 with with huge brakes, badazz wheels and a plate that says "SINSTR" that he pulled up next to i love it when some clown gets put in check and its even better his women was there to see that you never know what might happen when you antagonize a good guy.
Thank you for all the comments and the support guys. I actually love the new Z. My local dealership dropped one off in Le Mans Blue to my business a couple weekends ago for me to test drive and see if I liked it. I love that car but I am spoiled with tons of horse power. It handles great but is kind of slow in stock form. My car did not transform into a 10 second car on street tires overnight. I enjoyed building it and it's exactly where I wanted it to be. I am pretty sure if I started adding all I have in my car, I would be new Z and a half in total costs
By the way to all who are wondering, after I waved at him, I was long gone before he even realized what hit him

I would have said to them ...
Number 1... My "little" engine has more HP and Toqrue than your big engine. Number 2... My Z06 weighs 250 lbs less than your Z06. If he is smart enough to know the new Z06's weigh only ~50lbs more than the C5 Z06, then I will tell him I was refering to the added weight with his GF being in the car. That should take the smile off her face. Number 3... Racing in the streets is showing your too immature to own a car like that.
Thanks for showing your maturity in a tempting situation ! He could have killed someone had you have tried to race him...

Whenever I take my C6Z out for a spin Im confident I can blow away about 99% of ANYTHING on the road....but for me, street racing means losing my job..so it's a risk I NEVER allow myself to take..Besides, there's always that 1% (FactoryRaceCar and others like him) that would serve me up a BIG 'O slice of HUMBLE PIE!!!!

Dan,
First off, I respect your job Secondly, I am a very responsible adult especially at my age. The kind of work I do, making one mistake means loosing a lot for me too. I do not ever initiate street racing and avoid it even if called out at all costs.
Even though I lack patience immensely, I tolerated his behaviour for the longest possible time before showing him that there is someone out there who is ALWAYS faster than you. 99% of the posters in this thread said they would have done different. Guy was at least 25 years older than me and was acting like a 16 year old kid (yes, Corvettes would do that to you ) but that is no excuse for acting like the way he did. I have a 5 years of running HPDEs under my belt and consider myself a very decent driver but indulging in a street race is not what I normally do especially with a car that is outright no comparison. Alky, Torco and gas is too expensive
