First off, I respect your job Secondly, I am a very responsible adult especially at my age. The kind of work I do, making one mistake means loosing a lot for me too. I do not ever initiate street racing and avoid it even if called out at all costs.
Even though I lack patience immensely, I tolerated his behaviour for the longest possible time before showing him that there is someone out there who is ALWAYS faster than you. 99% of the posters in this thread said they would have done different. Guy was at least 25 years older than me and was acting like a 16 year old kid (yes, Corvettes would do that to you ) but that is no excuse for acting like the way he did. I have a 5 years of running HPDEs under my belt and consider myself a very decent driver but indulging in a street race is not what I normally do especially with a car that is outright no comparison. Alky, Torco and gas is too expensive
By the way, I love your "N" collection
Thanks man....the problem with street racing is things can turn to SH*T in a heartbeat...At the speeds we're talking about being a great driver simply cant compensate for the "what if's"...If someone gets seriously hurt or dies, not only can you lose EVERYTHING (assets, freedom, your life!!) you live with the fact you played a role in hurting or killing an innocent person..
Most of the time things dont turn to "sh*t"....I usually only get involved when they do So Ive seen a lot of sh*t over the years.....
Now, does that mean I never "kick it in the a$$" from time to time...Hell no.....Give me an open stretch of road with no traffic and I'll "flex" my Corvette's muscle...If I get tagged so be it...There are things in life woth paying for
If i loose my license, i loose everything i have because my job depends on it, so i'm very cautious whenever i feel the need for speed on the off ramps.
If i pulled up too FactoryRaceCar, I would just give a thumbs up on a wicked car, because myself being a car guy, i know that car would do some serious damage when provoke.
Also, you have to remember people like the C6Z jerk are either not car (corvette) guys or just stuck up asswipes with more money than brains.
I'm glad you mad him feel like a idiot when you "waved" at him, people like that don't deserve these cars.

TRUST me---he didn't stay there long--just long enough for me to get a great shot. His car NEVER stays behind for long And---he doesn't have to be doing major digits for you to know that he can open a can of whoop *** at ANY time---my ears can attest to that That is one AWESOME and SCARY machine and I have TONS of respect for its power and its driver
Umm--Nomi---did you ever get the "brown" stain out of the seat Ok buh byez then
I drove past an JSB C6 Z06 while I was returning from auto-x (pulling my tire trailer behind my '01 Vert)....
I looked the driver (next lane) in the eye and waved....
He looked right through me as if I wasn't there....
I wonder if he would have wave if I had been driving a VR C6 Z06 ?

Although Im a C6Z owner I spend most of my CF time on the C5 side (also own 2 99 C5s)...I cant really put my finger on it...but I feel "more at home" here
And I'll admit Ive met some pretty "snobbish" C6Z owners, but most have been very friendly...
Whenever I take my C6Z out for a spin Im confident I can blow away about 99% of ANYTHING on the road....but for me, street racing means losing my job..so it's a risk I NEVER allow myself to take..Besides, there's always that 1% (FactoryRaceCar and others like him) that would serve me up a BIG 'O slice of HUMBLE PIE!!!!
I wouldnt be too confident... Any newer sport bike of 600cc and up would beat you in a race no problem. And the big liter bikes like the hayabusa... forget about it not even close.

This, as well as your other post, tells me you need to find a more Vette Friendly area to enjoy your Vette.
If you're ever in the East TN area, let me know. So far I haven't run into any azzhats around here. Just waves and good conversations.
