I have a 2000 coupe with B&B route 66 exhaust and a K&N ram air system. I am looking to add the Mid-America crossover pipe, recalibrated & relocated MAT sensor, High Per. MAS (80-85 mil), Granatelli plug wires & Bosch platinum+4 spark plugs. After adding these things I want to have the car Dyno'd. Does anyone know of a really good Dyno shop in the West Covina area of So.Cal. (zip-91790). Also, should I add all these things or just a few for max performance?? What combo would be best??? Please people, I could use some help!!!
He lives in CA, so long tube headers are a no-no. I'd same my pennies for a supercharger setup at A&A Corvette. Andy (the owner) is the supercharger master. I've seen 490 RWHP from a smog-legal setup.

Thats what I would do in the communist state of CA
Nothing you are doing is really going to add any power.
The tune may get you 15 at most. At $500-$600 for the tune it may not be worth it.
You would be better off skipping the MAT crap, do NGKs, stock or MSD wires and add a good set of headers
I agree--none of these things are worth the money--The IAT relocator can be done by tuning--the stock MAF is good for 500 HP so i would absolutely not take it off--(type in granatelli or aftermarket MAF in the search and you'll see 99% of all people agree)
As far as I'm concerned there is no HP in plugs & wires unless yours are bad---Guys that claim they ran better after probably had a bad wire or plug--You could never feel 3 HP by seat of the pants ( claims of gains by the +4 people )
The only thing I see any good would be the pipe you speak of--But if it's not an X-Pipe then i wouldn't do that either -Not sure if the Mid -America crossover is an X-pipe configuration--
I would get a Shaner T-body instead--AND a tune---
If you are willing to gamble on passing smog--The long tubes is the a-ticket---All that other stuff is a waste--but the Lt's are a proven 20-30 HP--I live in calif--and i have LT's and they never bother me--As long as i can pass the rollers and sniffer they overlook the visual inspection-
After that the only REAL mods left would be hds/cam or blower/turbo
Headers are a gamble; it's as simple as that and believe me, the shops willing to "overlook" illegal mods are diminishing rapidly. If you want to install illegal stuff, make sure you can swap it out with the OEM stuff within a couple of hours time. I know guys who don't mind spending a weekend doing the swap two times, but I'm past those days. Besides, you can gain 150 HP with a smog-legal mod, why fool around with Russian Roulette?
Thanks for the answers folks. Guess I should save my money for now. I originally wanted to go with the LT's but hey, I'm in CA!!! NGK plugs are what I had in my '98' but I am still curious as to how good the new Bosch platinum+4 plugs are. Anyone know or should I just just go with the NGK iridiums (sp)? Also, should I bother with the Dyno or just get a tune at a good shop??
go for the LT's. There are plenty of guys in Cali running LT's and haven't had any problems passing smog. I imagine we would see a lot more posts here of test failures if they weren't passing. I haven't seen any, but maybe I'm wrong. I'll find out next year when I am up for my renewal. Good thing I might know some people....
