No need to be sorry for this rant You have been violated and I hope you can get a replacement soon and that it goes well.
If you don't own one and your neighborhood permits, you might want to think about a dog. Or if you have one, you might want consider a playmate with very territorial instincts. I have Border Collie and when any one comes 50 ft near my house, he goes ***** to the wall loud & crazy. Granted, he probably would not hurt anybody, but I am alerted when anyone is in front of the house. Ironically, my half pitbull mix barely makes a sound or reacts...
I've went through every person that I know that would have been in my truck, and I've come up with nothing. The installer that did my truck a year ago lives in Orlando, so it wasn't him, so it cost me 1300 to put the same head unit back in my truck but this time I decided not to rely on the factory system and put an alarm in it. So, I am out pretty much the cost of the install for my heads and cam on the vette (which should be done Monday, that better come out right!)
The truck won't fit in the garage, so it has to stay in the driveway, and if that alarm goes off tonight.. well, I shouldn't put in writing what could happen. It's hard to shake this one off. It's the third time my truck was broken into. Each time they broke windows and stole dumb stuff. This time it was done very clean and only took the D3, yeah, it makes me wonder how they knew exactly what I had in there. I'm thinking about setting up my hunting stealth cam tonight just in case.. Thanks for reading and listening though. I know it has happened to a lot of us, and it won't stop, I just want to catch them! Yep, I'm going to put the camera up!

My F250 diesel has tried to be stolen twice the last six months. I have the best alarm and kill switch so it never got started but why would anyone want to take this thing?
It would be really noticeable, don't ya think?
thieves are pathetic. A guy at my work left his motorcycle (sport bike) in the work parking lot while he was gone for a few days. Where he parked it, there is a guard shack about 50 ft away. .......Someone stole it.
I guess they did it at night when that guard shack isn't used, but still, there are people around all the time here since it's a 24/7 operation.
It maybe someone you know? Sounds to me like they knew what you had in the truck and knew when to take it? Think about it?
Yea, I hate to even suggest this, but I recall you mentioned the Avic in a thread in the Audio section. I'd hate to think someone saw that post and got the idea from here.
Just wondering; shouldn't the comperhensive part of your insurance policy cover this?
A pager alarm/kill switch/dogs & a home security camera. One or two of these should do the trick. Guns, baseball bats and bare knuckles may feel good but will only get you in deeper trouble.

It really was quite a coincidence that I bitched and whined about my D3 in the audio section and that night it went missing. Guess I shouldn't have bitched so much. My insurance would cover it, but I am not making a claim for that kind of money. I claimed it once before when they broke the window and tap danced all over my leather. I got a new interior out of that one, but here, like I said, it a nice install since they were nice enough to do such a clean job. Oh, and I have my gun in my pool table pocket closest to the front door. The laws in Florida concerning protecting your property are very nice, not that I would ever suggest utilizing those laws (attorney disclaimer).
It was like Christmas morning this morning when I went out to check my stealth cam, but the only pictures were of me with a beer at 10 o clock checking tomake sure it worked. That flash is blinding! I think I need to order an IR camera now, no wonder my deer look like they got the poop scared out of them when I look at my pics. Thanks again for listening to my rant guys.
Oh, and on the yellow truck, yes, very subtle In my neighborhood, they have been stealing F150's and shipping them to Asia lately.

So, now, my truck is getting the same head unit installed and I am out 1200 bucks, oh, they stole my ipod too. Sorry, had to rant.
Fords are bad for getting broke into here in SA. They normally get in thru the sliding back window or the the door lock area. Sorry for your lose.
I'll give them credit because they knew exactly what they were doing and cut every wire nicely and didn't break anything!
a meticulous thief, how nice. they could have destroyed the dash rendering the vehicle useless. I would think your insurance would cover the loss including the ipod.
no matter what you do, if it's left unattended and someone wants it, they'll get it...... or damage it. a fact of life these days.
greed, laziness, society "owes" them something for whatever reason, mommy didn't breast feed them, or just plain lack of respect, who knows why some steal. and that's not just radio thieves, it also includes vice chairmen of wal mart.
I had that happen in my BMW back in 1987 i know its al ong time ago, i had the car parked in my driveway , i used to live by the park, there must of been at least 50 or more by the park , so i ordered chinese food, and went inside and had the food, with my friend, maybe 20 minutes tops, i came out ,and woila, my window was broken and the blaupunct radio, i hope i spelled it right , that the kind of radio, the bmw had , it was stolen and my drivers side window, busted, nobody seen anything
